Spike Dodge and Counter Tips
Strategy Against Spike
Spike's spiked log attack has three variations: the first is a straightforward attack that hits both Mario and Luigi in a straight line; the second involves tossing the log upward to miss Mario, but it will continue rolling toward Luigi; and the third tosses the log upward to miss Mario, but it will roll backward, ultimately targeting Mario.
Attack Pattern 1
| Spike produces five spiked balls from its mouth and rolls each one towards you. | |
| How to Dodge | This attack cannot be dodged. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Time your hammer attack so it reflects each spiked ball back to Spike, the last one will deal damage to Spike. |
Attack Pattern 2
| Spike brings out three spiked logs and throws it at both Mario and Luigi. | |
| How to Dodge | Have Mario or Luigi jump as soon as the spiked log comes close to them. |
