Mario Luigi Brothership - Separated Side Quest
Separated is a side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership that can be started on Shipshape Island after completing Offandon Island. Read on for a full walkthrough of Separated, including its location, unlock requirements, and rewards.

Rumor has it that something un-fishy can be seen from the fishing spot. If you fish now, maybe you'll catch it.
Unlock Requirements Complete Offandon Island
Quest Start Location Shipshape Island

Unlocked After Completing Offandon Island

After you complete Offandon Island, you will be able to find this side quest on Shipshape Island. Fish for the Note in the Bottle from the Fishing Spot in order to start Separated.

If this side quest doesn’t appear for you after you return to Shipshape Island from Offandon Island, you may need to progress the story a little bit.

Fish for a Bottle with a Note

Fish Cast Line
To start the quest, go to the fishing spot on Shipshape Island, just below the Big Cannon, and fish for a bottle with a note.

You can use any bait to catch the bottle, but we recommend going with Handcrafted Bait to increase your chances of snagging the quest item.

Deliver the Letter on Twistee Island

MLB Talk to Red Concordian

Once you’ve caught the bottle with a note, deliver it to the Red Concordian on Twistee Island. You’ll find him on the western side of the island.

Talk to the Couple on Heatfreeze Island

MLB Talk to Green Concordian

After delivering the letter, head to Heatfreeze Island and find the new couple by the ice cream stand in the southwest area. Talk to them to trigger a short cutscene, which will complete the quest.

After completing Separated, the couple will reward you with 3 Ultra Mushrooms and 3 Super Mushrooms.
