Since Mario's stat growth favors his BP, POW, and Speed, we recommend that it is best to lean into his damage-dealer role by selecting the Rank-Up Bonuses that enhance his offenses.

Select the SPEED Up+ and POW Up+ Rank Bonuses early so that you can earn more points for these stats in the long run. It is much more effective to pick them early to make the most out of them.

The other selections here for Hammerhead, Jump Man, and Bros. Pro continue to buff his damage output, regardless of which method you prefer to deal damage.

On the other brother's hand, Luigi's stat growth favors his HP, DEF, and Stache. This makes him a suitable tank that is still able to deal the occasional wallop thanks to his Lucky hits. Capitalize on these strengths by choosing Rank-Up Bonuses that beef Luigi up more.

Picking up STACHE Up+ early, gives Luigi a safety net of a higher chance to deal Lucky hits later on to make up for his lower offenses. We recommend picking up DEF Up+ before HP Up+ by the simple fact that you can always regain HP with healing items, but there is no consistent way to increase defenses.

Big Lucky and Iron Body suit Luigi well, further emphasizing his defensive role of the duo.

For your last two Rank-Up Bonuses, we recommend grabbing Casual Bros. to allow you to lean into a heavier Bros. Attack playstyle, and the Gear Slot to give you options for added bonuses that can be valuable in the endgame.

STACHE on Luigi seems to be what he naturally wants, and it makes up for him not getting POW naturally. Trying to get Mario enough stache to have him get LUCKY not only would be inefficient but also would take away from building Luigi. While you could make Mario a super damage dealer you would be kneecapping Luigi's growth where he is half of your turns. SPEED is helpful as far as getting your turns before the enemy attacks.

Agreed, while Stach on luigi sounds useful, Stach on Mario allows him to do far more damage with his lucky hits as Lucky multiplies the damage by 1.3 on top of other multipliers, so Mario will benefit a lot more from Lucky farming. I think everything you listed is on point. I wouldn't bother with defenses as you get Plugs that raise your defenses (and make you immune) and speed is also pointless cause if you NEED to attack first, there's an accessory for that.
