Limited-Time Special Quest

Fear of Glohm is a special quest that must be completed before a certain point in the story. Once this quest is unlocked, it is highly recommended to do it immediately before progressing the main story any further.

Limited-time quests will disappear upon progressing the story, and you will be unable to complete them for the rest of your playthrough.

Unlocked After Completing Slippenglide Island

After you complete Slippenglide Island, you will be able to find this side quest on Slippenglide Island. Talk to Connie and Arc at the Village in order to start Fear of Glohm.

If this side quest doesn’t appear for you after you return to Shipshape Island from Slippenglide Island, you may need to progress the story a little bit.

Fear of Glohm Quest Objectives
Talk to Conne and Arc at Slippenglide Island Go to Chilliam’s Dad Press the Buttons for a Motivational Speech

Talk to Connie and Arc at Slippenglide Island

To start Fear of Glohm, you need to talk to Connie and Arc. They can be found just to the west of the blue entrance pipe.

Go to Chilliam’s Dad

Connie and Arc will try to talk to Chilliam’s Glohmed dad to convince him to attend Chilliam’s wedding. Talk to Connie to see their dialogue play out.

Press the Right Buttons for a Motivational Speech

Talk to Connie again. She’ll ask if the people suffering from Glohm are beyond help. Answer No, and prepare to make a motivational speech to raise their hopes.

You will be prompted to press A three times for Mario to share his optimistic thoughts, which Connie will translate for us. Then, Luigi will add to it, with Arc translating, if you press B when prompted three times.

The quest ends after both Mario and Luigi have boosted the morale of Connie and Arc.

Too-Fast Gloves

Reward	Description
Too-Fast Gloves x1	Boosts SPEED and STACHE by 20% but reduces max BP by 20%. BP x0.8; SPEED x1.2; STACHE x1.2

You will be rewarded with a pair of Too-Fast Gloves upon completing the Fear of Glohm speical quest.
