You can save by hitting the save block in the overworld in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Learn how to save, where to find the save blocks and know what happens when you die.

How to Save

Hit the Save Blocks

To save your game, find and hit one of the Save Blocks scattered throughout the overworld. Save Blocks are identifiable by their blue color and the letter S prominently displayed on them.

Approach a Save Block, position Mario underneath, and jump to activate it and save your progress.

Best Time to Save in the Game

• Before Boss Fights: Always use a Save Block before entering a boss room to avoid losing significant progress.
• After Major Events: Ensure you save after completing certain story events or after completing goals in the game!

Select One of Five Save Slots

When saving your progress, you are able to save in one of five save slots in the game! Consider using multiple save slots right before major decisions that affect the story, or before making big purchases on gear that you may just want to test out.

The Game Has an Auto Save Feature

In addition to manual saves using Save Blocks, the game includes an auto-save feature that helps ensure your progress is preserved.

The auto-save feature triggers at key moments during gameplay, such as when you transition between major areas, after certain story cutscenes, or upon defeating a boss.

Where to Find Save Blocks

Find Save Blocks in the Overworld

Save Blocks are typically scattered across the overworld and are often placed near important locations, such as town areas on the islands, near boss battles, and other key locations in the overworld.

Always make sure to save before tackling a difficult area or boss fight to ensure your progress is preserved.
