Monster Mania: Level 5 Side Quest | |
---|---|
There are fearsome monsters on Lottacoins Island. Someone on a roof there seeks a champion to defeat them! |
|
Unlock Requirements | Complete Jellyfish Island |
Quest Start Location | Lottacoins Island |
After you complete Jellyfish Island, you will be able to find this side quest on Lottacoins Island. Talk to the Monster Maniac member in a white suit on the roof of the Lottacoins building in order to start Monster Mania: Level 5.
If this side quest doesn’t appear for you after you return to Shipshape Island from Jellyfish Island, you may need to progress the story a little bit.
This side quest involves defeating enemies to complete it. It is recommended to have Mario and Luigi to be at least level 43 to easily complete this quest.
This quest unlocks once you have built either Technikki’s flying engine or Adaphne’s submarine engine and have made it past the Fortress Zokket barrier.
Technikki or Adaphne? Which Engine Should You Choose?
To start this quest, you need to talk to Maniac No. 5, who can be found on the rooftop of the building at Lottacoins Island. This is the building with the entrance on the west side of the island.
Climb up the staircase beside the concierge, straight ahead from the entrance. Keep going up the stairs until you reach the 4F. Then, flick the R Stick down to use Ball Bros. move, and use the pipes to get to the rooftop
You should be able to find the Monster Maniac Club member by heading to the left upon reaching the rooftop. Talk to him, and say Yes when he asks if you can face his Helmet Zok Troopers.

Helmet Zok Troopers Tips |
---|
Talk to Maniac No. 5 again to start the battle. The enhanced Helmet Zok Troopers you need to face here will respawn the next turn upon being defeated. In order to win this battle, you need to defeat all Helmet Zok Troopers at the same time. If even one remains standing at the end of the turn, all the rest will come back the next turn with full health.
Although successfully countering an enemy’s attack is usually a good thing, you may want to be more selective when it comes to which enemies you counter during this particular battle.
Only counter enemies that are wearing helmets or still have high HP. Do not counter enemies that have low HP, since this may knock them out, allowing them to return with full HP the next turn.
When an enemy you don’t want to damage approaches Mario or Luigi, it’s recommended to dodge their attack instead if possible or use Emergency Guard by pressing the R shoulder button.
Helmet Zok Trooper Dodge and Counter Strategies
Try your best to bring all enemies down to low HP without knocking them out. You can use a multi-target Bros. Attack or the Kaboom Attack Battle Plug while they’re all still at full HP.
Once they have some damage on them, you’ll want to switch to using single-target Hammer or Jump attacks. Equip the Surprise Iron Ball if you’re targeting a Zok Trooper with its helmet still on. This allows your Jump or Hammer attack to knock its helmet off and the Iron Ball to damage it.
You may want to use the Dizzifying Attack or Icy Attack plugs if you know that your attack will being the enemy’s HP down to low. If they’re immobilized by the attack, you won’t have to worry about having to dodge or counter them.
Once all enemies are at low enough health, use a Bros. Attack that targets all enemies to defeat the Helmet Zok Troopers in one move. The Bomb Derby attack in particular is recommended since it can hit enemies more than once, allowing you to still damage those with helmets.
However, it is recommended to have most, if not all, Helmet Zok Troopers to be helmet-less by the time you use your finishing move in order to guarantee that it will work.
