Send Peach to investigate at Lottacoins Island in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. See which outcome is better when sending Peach or Luigi to investigate in this guide.

Before reaching Lottacoins Island you have to decide on sending either Princess Peach or Luigi to investigate. Although the outcome is the same, it is recommended to send Princess Peach to investigate.
Sending Luigi causes you to lose him as a party member and you will have to battle through enemy encounters alone before you reunite with him at Lottacoins Island. In addition, you will not be able to use his newly acquired Bros. Move: Zapperator until you are reunited with him.
Keeping Luigi lets you face battles together with Mario, which not only makes battles easier, but also guarantees that Luigi is not losing out on EXP earned from battles.
Sending Luigi will require Mario to go to Lottacoins Island alone until they are reunited.
While most battles are optional, one of the rooms in the building has a required battle with two Spike Zok Troper. Overcoming this solo is needed to progress through the story as you cannot flee from this battle.
Once you reunite with Luigi, you can equip him with the Arc Scope accessory to help him catch up with the EXP gain. You can get this accessory as a reward for completing the special time-limited quest, Arc's Secret.

Literally just makes the game slightly harder for the challenge. and Luigi starts off behind on EXP so it's hard to get them aligned again so they level up at the same time. Kind of wish it was more of a trade off, like sending Peach means more enemies in the overworld and forced battles on the way to Peach, but sending Luigi has the zokkets split up or ignore you more as Luigi makes his own way out, thus having lighter security.
