Strategy Against Curlup

If Curlup's rolling attack hits Mario or Luigi, they’ll be temporarily unable to rejoin the party. To prevent this, aim to counter Curlup’s attack with your hammer.

Attack Pattern 1

Curlup curls up into a ball and rolls forward.
How to Dodge This attack cannot be dodged.
How to Counter Use your hammer to attack Curlup once it's near you.

Attack Pattern 2

Curlup rolls into a ball and smashes itself three times on the ground, creating shockwaves.
How to Dodge Jump as soon as the ground smash impact gets close to you.
How to Counter This attack cannot be countered.
