Firewood is Fuel necessary for upgrading burgage plots in Manor Lords. See how to get Firewood, how to use it efficiently, and what to do when you no longer have any firewood as you expand your territory!
To produce Firewood, you need to build a Woodcutter's Lodge and assign familiies to work in it. To avoid complete deforestation, set a work area to limit where it goes to chop down trees. Additionally, you can also build a Forester's Hut to continue planting Trees for you to chop down once they mature.
Raw Material | Production Building | End Product |
---|---|---|
Trees | Woodcutter's Lodge | Firewood |
To efficiently gather Firewood, construct your Woodcutter's Lodge near trees. Once built, assign at least one family to work in the Woodcutter's Lodge to start a steady supply of Firewood.
As your population grows, and your need for firewood increases proportionally, consider building a Charcoal Kiln nearby to double the efficiency of your Firewood Fuel.
How to Get Fuel and All Fuel Types
If you leave your Woodcutter's Lodge with an unlimited work area, you might find yourself in a situation where your forest resources are completely depleted because of deforestation.
It's also a good idea to set up Forester's Huts so you don't find yourself in a situation where you have no more resources to get firewood.

If you have a surplus of Regional Wealth, you can opt to build a Trading Post and import Firewood directly. This can help supply Firewood to your burgage plots, especially if your settlement has grown too large that the demand exceeds your current supply.

Firewood is the primary resource used as Fuel for your settlement. Burgage Plots, for example consume 1 unit of fuel per month, which corresponds to roughly 1 Firewood. This amount is doubled during winter, so it is always a good idea to have a supply of fuel before the winter season.

Firewood can be used to produce the following items using the Charcoal Kiln.
Firewood can be processed in Charcoal Kilns, which will produce 2 Charcoal per Firewood, essentially doubling the efficiency for Fuel.
Firewood in itself is used as a fuel source for Burgage Plots and other Workplaces. The amount of Fuel needed for each building depends on the building type and current season.
