The Apple Orchard is a type of burgage plot backyard extension in Manor Lords. See how to build the Apple Orchard, what the Apple Orchard does, and tips on how to use the Apple Orchard effectively here!
Apple Orchards are Backyard Extensions and can only be built inside your Burgage Plots. They aren't independent buildings, so you won't find them in the Manor Lords building menu.
You can build Apple Orchards in any non-Artisan Burgage Plot that's at Level 1 or above.
To build the Apple Orchard, you first have to get the Orchardry development. Like every other development, it only costs 1 Development Point to unlock.
While the Orchardry and Apple Orchard upgrades are amazing for producing food, Apple Orchards cost 50 Regional Wealth to build and take 3 years to fully grow. It's a steep investment and you should consider if you'll need to use the Development Point elsewhere.
If you do have a Development Point to spare, then you should unlock Apple production, since it could easily feed your entire village!

The resources and materials listed above are needed to construct the Apple Orchard. Make sure you have enough of them when building.
To start making Apple Orchards, you must first make Burgage Plots with Backyard Extensions. Simply extend the length of the plot points, which should allow Backyard Extensions once you construct the Burgage Plot.
Larger Backyard Extensions will yield more Apples, but it will also be significantly longer to tend to the Apple Trees, especially if the residing Family is also assigned to a different building.
Apples grow from fully grown Apple Trees every Harvest Season, and provides Apples based on the size of the Apple Orchard.
Larger Apple Orchards take longer to plant and harvest, but will yield more Apples for your settlement.
How to Get Apples and How to Use
Apple Orchards take roughly 3 Years to reach full maturity, after which it will produce the maximum amount of Apples per harvest season. During its growth stages, the Orchard will still produce some Apples, although in smaller amounts.
Since Apples take a while to reach maturity, we recommend building it early on, but have a different food source while waiting for the Apple Trees to reach full maturity.
