When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Res / -Def

The best IVs for Dorothea are +Res and -Def. Dorothea Res stat is very high at base 45, raised to base 49 with a superboon. Using her high Res stat, Dorothea can run Res-based support such as Ploys and Sabotages and fulfill a secondary magic tank role when necessary on top of her primary role as a refresher unit.

Dorothea's Def stat is terrible at only base 17 and can be safely taken as a bane as she will be defeated in one hit by any physical attacker.

+Res for a +10 merge

We recommend +Res when merging Dorothea up to +10 for similar reasons above. Dorothea will need her Res stat to withstand magic damage from powerful nukers especially due to her lack of an exclusive weapon providing damage reduction.

Dorothea is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Dorothea Strengths

Blárvulture+ amplifies foe's penalties

Dorothea's inheritable Blárvulture+ has a foe penalty doubler effect, amplifying her damage as more penalties are applied to her foes.

However, as a refresher unit with a high Res stat, attacking is not Dorothea's primary role. Instead, she should be refreshing her ally's turns and soaking magic damage when necessary.

High Res stat

Dorothea's base 45 Res, raised to 49 with a superboon, and 54 with merges and dragonflowers, can be taken advantage of quite easily.

Equipping Res-based skills like Ploys and Sabotages can set up additional penalties for her foes to further aid the team externally.

Additionally, with a high Res stat and an above average Spd stat of base 36 (41 with merges and dragonflowers), Dorothea can tank one magic attack from her foes, maybe even more depending on investment levels.

Lack of Unique Skills

Dorothea suffers from not having any unique skills to call her own, making her unable to stand out amongst other units.

Ranged refresher units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive skill makes Dorothea replaceable by better units.
