◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Hoshidan Summer Leo are +Atk and -Def. Lacking an exclusive weapon to call his own, Leo needs every point of Atk he can to deal as much damage as possible, especially against sturdier units.
Leo's Def is abysmal at only base 18, and any attack from a half-decent physical attacker will be enough to defeat Leo in one hit. Thus, it is a safe bane to take.
We recommend +Atk when merging Hoshidan Summer Leo up to +10 to maximize his damage output. +Res is also an option to utilize him as a magical tank and attacker hybrid unit.

This budget build doubles as both an attacker and a magic tank using Leo's high Res. A/R Far Trace 3 can be acquired using Divine Codes Ephemera as of the time of Leo's release; it can be replaced by Lull Atk/Res 3 if it can't be acquired anymore.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Hoshidan Summer Leo is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Hoshidan Summer Leo's Juicy Bucketful+ grants him Atk+6 and a status effect that grants him a guaranteed follow-up attack at the start of each turn.
In combat, Juicy Bucketful+ grants Leo Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 and bonus damage equal to number of 【Bonus】 effects active on Leo and his foe (excluding stat bonuses) x 5; capped at +25 damage.
This inheritable weapon focuses directly on dealing high damage and foregoes most other effects that improve survivability.
Hoshidan Summer Leo suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.
Mage cavalry units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Hoshidan Summer Leo replaceable by better units.
Hoshidan Summer Leo takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Thani or Binding Reginleif, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
