When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Arete will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-Def

The best IVs for Arete are +Atk and -Def. Due to her poor Spd, her Atk needs to be high in order to potentially one-shot enemy units.

Her Def is low as is it, and would be safe to take it as her bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Arete to 10.

This is for the same reasons as above, as a fully invested Arete will be able to hit 53 Atk with full merges.

How to Use, Explanation

This build uses Arete's Atk and Res stats to tank magical attacks for the team. The dual Mirror Stance skills boost Arete's Atk and Res stats to help with this. Rauðrrabbit+ helps sustain her HP to keep Quick Riposte active.

Arete is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Arete Strengths

Rauðrrabbit+ makes her a good tank against mages and also heals her

It only shows that Arete healed 6 HP due to the damage she takes from Atk/Res Push 3!

Arete's weapon, Rauðrrabbit+ gives her Atk/Res+5 in her first combat in player phase or enemy phase.

Paired with her high Res and the fact that she has Atk/Res Push 3 for the enemy phase, she can be a decent offensive unit as well as a magic tank.

It will also restore 7 HP to her after combat, giving her some survivability.

Arete Weaknesses

Does not have a strong sense of uniqueness

Though Arete debuts with Rauðrrabbit+, you can make an argument that this tome is better off with another unit. If you are to make use of her in the long run, we suggest inheriting powerful skills onto her to help her contribute to your team more.

We also recommend getting merges whenever possible!

Low Def

Arete's Def only sits at 20 at Lv. 40. Even though she can take less magic damage when initating with Rauðrrabbit+ and Atk/Res Push 3, you should still pay attention to powerful blue physical attackers that can easily take her down.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Arete takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane+ or a Wolf weapon like Keen Rauðrwolf+, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Obtain through a Grand Hero Battle

Arete is a Hero who, for a limited time, can be obtained through completing a Grand Hero Battle for the first time. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.
