When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk/-Def

The best IVs for Deirdre are +Atk and -Def. A +Atk IV helps her maximize the 1.5x multiplier against dragons provided by Divine Naga. If you put some investment into her with thi IV, she will deal huge single-hit damage to dragons and it might be enough to take some weaker dragons out!

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Deirdre to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. Deirdre is mainly an offensive check against dragon units, but since her Spd is somewhat unreliable, it is best to maximize her Atk stat instead. If you prefer a bulkier Deirdre, go for a +Res IV instead.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Divine Naga

Upon any kind of upgrade, Divine Naga gets the ability to neutralize skills from foes that grant them adaptive damage. This eliminates Deirdre's weakness against dragons that can exploit her low Def to bypass her strong Res stat. Since lots of dragons have adaptive damage and Deirdre is mainly a dragon check, it can be said that getting an upgrade of any kind is vital for Deirdre's success.

However, the specific kind of upgrade we recommend getting on her is the special effect refine. It capitalizes her strong Res stat to get an all-stat buff. With this stat buff, she cannot be taken out in one hit by dragons like Fae and Nowi. Upon the counterattack, Deirdre can easily take said units out.

Deirdre is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Deirdre Strengths

Dragon-effective weapon in Divine Naga

Divine Naga is a weapon effective against dragon foes. This goes well with her very high Res stat, that makes Deirdre an effective dragon check unit. It also disables buffs that are applied before combat.

Additionally, it gets a huge power boost upon a special effect refine. First off, it neutralizes adaptive damage, and it grants a conditional all-stat boost! Read more about said buffs in the weapon refine section

Solid Enemy Phase Capabilities with Quick Riposte

Deirdre has access to Quick Riposte 3 which means as long as she is at 70% HP or above, she will score a follow-up attack when attacked in the enemy phase. This means she has means of scoring follow-up attacks on both phases.

This makes her a very deadly enemy phase unit to magic users that have to go through her Res stat to deal damage to her. If they are not able to knock her out, they will have to take 2 attacks from Deirdre.

Debuff enemies Spd with a Res check

Spd Ploy 3 inflicts -5 Spd on enemies at the start of the turn in all of Deirdre's cardinal directions. Since Deirdre boasts a huge Res stat, you will find this skill easy to utilize against a wide range of units. Because of its massive range, Deirdre's allies can easily take advantage of the debuff too! She not even need to be in close proximity of her enemies.

Deirdre Weaknesses

Low Def

Masquerade Deirdre's Def only sits at 16 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for physical units to take her out. Be mindful of Deirdre's positioning in relation to physical units that can easily take her out. Her base Spd is also only 28 so fast physical attackers are major threats to her.

Because of her severely low Res, she is also vulnerable to adaptive damage so make sure to get the weapon upgrade to neutralize adaptive damage.

Adaptive damage is when a unit calculates damage using the low or a foe's Def or Res

Cannot disable buffs that are applied in combat

Divine Naga's effect only works on skills that are applied before combat. It does not disable buffs that are applied to skills that are activated in combat such as Swift Sparrow 3 and Goad Cavalry. Pay attention to the skills of your opponents and strategize accordingly to avoid ggetting taken out due to underestimating enemy kits!
