The best IVs for V!Lyn are +Def and -HP. A +Def balances V!Lyn's defenses which allows her to take on a wide range of units, whether they are magical or physical units. Having balanced defenses fits well with the Close Counter build that is discussed below.

How to Use, Explanation

The reason why you would want to run a Blade tome set on Valentine's Lyn is because she is a rare armored tome unit. Thanks to Bold Fighter 3, Death Blow 4 and Armor March, she can easily and powerfully initiate attacks. The downside to this build is the lack of visible buffs, so choose supports that further help with mobility and those that can provide visible buffs!

How to Use, Explanation

Since Valentine's Lyn's weakness is her limited mobility, you can just opt for a Close Counter build that caters to a bait and KO playstyle. Let the enemies come to Lyn, and not the other way around. If you can afford it, you can get Close Reversal as an upgrade to CC. Vengeful Fighter 3 is vital to this kit as it is a very powerful, and reliable enemy phase skill for armors.

Valentine's Lyn is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

V!Lyn Strengths

Neutralizes Bonuses on Ranged Units

V!Lyn's weapon, Blue Gift+ neutralizes bonuses if the foe is a ranged unit. This makes V!Lyn a good match up for ranged units who rely on buffs as they are neutralized before V!Lyn takes damage.

Atk/Spd Bond Increases Offensive Power

Atk/Spd Bond 3 increases Lyn's Atk and Spd by +5 if she is adjacent to an ally. Since it is an in-combat buff, it stacks with other combat buffs. This makes Lyn high-powered, but not susceptible to panics and chills.

Armor March 3 Improves Mobility

If Valentine's Lyn is adjacent to other armored units, Lyn and said units can move 1 extra space for that turn. It is pretty easy to trigger, and it greatly improves the mobility of all armored allies.

V!Lyn Weaknesses

Weak to Armor Effective Weapons

Valentine's Lyn takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Armorslayer+, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal lots of damage to her. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
