When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk/-Def

The best IVs for Olwen are +Atk and -Def. She works best with a +Atk IV as her weapon that allows her to score double-attacks benefit most from that stat. It is also a superboon, so you should take advantage of it as much as possible. A superboon means she gets +4 in this stat instead of the normal +3 if she possesses a boon in said stat. Her Def is of less importance so it is safe to take it as a bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Olwen to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. Like her brother Reinhardt, she benefits greatly from Atk stat as even a small change in Atk will be effectively doubled by Dire Thunder.

How to Use, Explanation

A player phase build that aims to maximize Spd. When Desperation 3 procs, Olwen can easily land quad hits before the enemy can retaliate, if they are still alive. Ardent Sacrifice helps set up Desperation.

Olwen is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Olwen Strengths

Successive attacks with his Exclusive Skill Dire Thunder!

Olwen's strength lies in her exclusive skill Dire Thunder, which lets her attack twice in a row, regardless of Spd. This lets her OHKO a wide range of red units, while also being able to heavily damage most units regardless of their color, save for those with very high Res stats. However, because of her lower Atk stat, she can not hit as hard as her older brother, Reinhardt.

Increased allied cavalry units's survivability with Ward Cavalry

Olwen's C slot skill Ward Cavalry will grant an additional Def/Res+4 to cavalry units within 2 spaces during combat. Unlike Hone/Fortify skills, Spur/Drive/Ward buffs will stack, so you can get the most out of all your units equipped with these skills. However, you may want to swap this skill out with something else for full-on offensive Olwen builds. Check out our builds section here!

Olwen Weaknesses

Awful Atk stat

Olwen can not utilize Dire Thunder to its full potential because of her very low Atk stat of 26. We suggest inheriting skills onto her to improve her Atk stat or leverage her decent Spd for a 4 Strike Olwen. Buffs from allies greatly help as well!

Outshined by her brother, Reinhardt

Reinhardt [9.0/10]

Despite being one of the oldest units in the game, Reinhardt remains one of the most threatening. Unlike Olwen, he boasts a very high Atk stat. This allows him to abuse Dire Thunder off the bat. Even the AI can make use of his abilities effectively as it requires little to no strategy. This makes Reinhardt an unpleasant sigh tto see in maps like Arena.
