The best IVs for Hoshidan Summer Ryoma are +Atk and -Def. It is not uncommmon for Hoshidan Summer Ryoma to attack enemies as he does possess some offensive ability. A +Atk IV helps him in said situations. His defenses are really low and it is not really important. However, taking a bane in Res would be cripping as it is very low and it is a superbane. it is much wiser to take a bane in Def instead. This would balance Ryoma's defenses, even if they are at very low levels.

How to Use, Explanation

A mid-level investment build for Ryoma that combines refreshing and damage capabilities. If you cannot afford Death Blow 4, get Death Blow 3 or Triangle Adept 3 instead! If Death Blow 3 Seal is on another unit, you can opt for Swift Sparrow 2 or Attack +3. His job is to refresh, or weaken armored foes to make it easy for allies to swoop in and finish the job. If you need more mobility, you can replace Poison Strike 3 for Wings of Mercy*.

Hoshidan Summer Ryoma is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Refreshes his allies' actions

Dance is an assist skill that allows the target ally to take another action. Because of this, your allies can move and attack twice to take down foes, or attack and move back to the safe zone so that they won't be taken out during the enemy phase. It has high strategic value and it allows Hoshidan Summer Ryoma to become a part of many team compositions.

Strong Against Armored Units Plus an Additional Effect

Sky Maiougi+ deals bonus damage against armored units. It also disables skills that change attack priority. This makes Ryoma a possible counter to units like Lewyn, as he relies on the effects of Forseti, which changes attack priority, to effectively take foes down.

On top of all those, it also possesses the generic ability of daggers to debuff enemies. In the case of this weapon, it applies -7 Def/Res to target unit and all foes within 2 spaces of it. Take note that this stacks with Chill Def 3!

Spur Spd/Res 2 buffs allies Spd/Res!

Spur Spd/Res 2 is but a simple skill. It grants adjacent allies Spd/Res +3 during combat. This slightly increases an ally's durability against magic foes and it also makes them less susceptible to follow-up attacks. The Spd boost can also help them score follow-up attacks. Unfortunately, Ryoma does not enjoy these buffs.
