When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-Res

The best IVs for Saber are +Spd and -Res. A higher Spd stat allows Saber to get more follow-up attacks on foes. It also makes him less susceptible to follow-up attacks from enemies. Since his HP is a superbane, it is best to take a -Res IV instead as it is not important to him.

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Golden Dagger

The effects of Golden Dagger's special effect refine fits very well with Saber's kit that relies heavily on Aegis and Shield Pulse 3 to absorb damage. It grants him +3 to all stats when his special is online and allows him to counterattack regardless of foes' range. This makes him a formidable unit in the enemy phase.

Inheriting skills like Steady Breath or Fierce Breath furthers his enemy phase presence and helps him charge his special faster.

Saber is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Saber Strengths

Golden Dagger's Special Effect Refine is very powerful for Saber!

Upon special refinement, Golden Dagger keeps its original effect and gives two additional effects:

1. Grants +3 to all stats during combat if special is ready
2. Allows Saber to counterattack regardless of range

Inheriting Special Spiral 3, all specials with a cooldown of 3 or below will be active at most times after the first activation. If you plan on using Saber in the long run and on competitive maps, it may be worth to inherit Special Spiral 3 onto him.

Slaying Edge+ and Golden Dagger Speeds-up Special

One of Saber's weapons, the Slaying Edge+ accelerates his special trigger (cooldown count -1). This makes it easier for him to utilize his special skill, Aegis. This is good for him as his kit relies heavily on keeping his special online. Even his exclusive weapon that has access to a special refine effect, the Golden Dagger, has a similar effect.

Aegis and Shield Pulse Synergize to Reduce Damage

Aegis reduces damage from long-range sources. This synergizes well with Shield Pulse 3, a skill which Saber has access to that reduces damages from enemies if conditions are met.

Saber has a good balance of stats, but he does not boast any unique skill nor characteristic that sets her apart from other sword users. If you are to make use of him in the long run, we suggest inheriting powerful skills onto him to help him fill specific niches more.
