What Are Egg Skills?
Powerful Skills Acquired From High Potency Eggs
Egg Skills are acquired by Monsties if the egg that they hatched from were either very potent or highly potent. When gathering eggs, an egg will shine gold if it is very potent, and will shine with multiple colors if it is highly potent.
Egg Skills Are Determined by Habitat Element

The Egg Skill a Monstie acquires depends on the Area Element of the Habitat where it was restored. For instance, the Dreadqueen Rathian and Boltreaver Astalos above both have a secondary Water element as they were acquired from Mirror Lake. Both of these Monsties have the Egg Skill, Lunar Cry.
However, the Dual-Fire element Dreadqueen Rathian has a different Egg Skill from the Fire/Water Dreadqueen Rathian as it was acquired from a Habitat with a Fire Area Element.

Furthermore, even if you raise different Monsties in a single Habitat, their Egg Skills will also differ based on their Monster Rank.
For example, even though all the Rathian variants above are Dual-Fire element, their Egg Skills differ, such as Rathian having Red Mastery and Pink Rathian having Fireform.
How to Get Egg Skills
Gather High Potency Eggs of Your Chosen Monstie
You can farm for high potency eggs by searching in Rare or Super Rare Monster Dens and raising the Ecosystem Rank of the Monstie that you're looking for, which both increase the spawn chance of these rare Eggs.
