The Feral Velocidrome has two states, its Normal state and its Enraged state.

The Feral Velocidrome will have no particular elemental attacks but instead will have Speed attacks. Especially since it will only be the protagonist and partner Monstie, head to heads and skill based attacks will be more frequent.

When it enters the enraged state, the Feral Velocidrome will switch its attacks to the Power category. Additionally, it will have two types of countermoves, a Backlash (Seal or Nox Psn) or a Roar (Feral Dreadful or Oppressive). If it uses the latter skill, it will lower its own Wyvernsoul Defense.
Nerscylla

Tobi-Kadachi
|
As an early game boss, our recommended Monsties to fight the Feral Velocidrome will be the Tobi-Kadachi and Nerscylla. The Tobi-Kadachi can provide coverage for countering its enraged-state Power moves as well as unleash attacks that hit both enemies.
On the other hand, Nerscylla can cover the Technical moves for its Normal state and inflict Sleep.
Since there will be a lot of opportunities for head to heads during this fight, pay attention to the Feral Velocidrome's state, whether Normal (Speed) or Enraged (Power) and counter accordingly with Technical and Speed skills

The Feral Velocidrome's counter roar when it is enraged will leave an opening for depleting its Wyvernsoul gauge fast. Make sure to line up corresponding Blunt type attacks to stun or topple it.
Equipping a strong blunt type weapon, such as the Cluster Hammer, can help deplete the Feral Velocidrome's Wyvernsoul Gauge even through regular attacks. Players may also opt for a blunt type weapon that has sustain type skills especially since the following match with the Feral Gypceros will not reset the Partner Monsties or Protagonist's health.
What makes this boss fight challenging is that you and your Monstie are the only targets. There is no partner to sustain you or to take some of the damage. The best approach would be to take out, stun or topple one monster at a time. This way the damage the Protagonist and Monstie will receive will be lessened and the battle will turn instead into a two on one.

Players encounter the Feral Velocidrome during the main quest Tracks. Specifically, it is when the protagonist and Simon journey towards the clearing in the west, right before teaching the Rite of Channeling to Thea.
