2. Normal State |
| Normal State | |
|---|---|
| Enraged State |
The Feral Espinas has 2 states which are its Normal State and Enraged State.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Feral Inferno Breath |
| Turn 2 | Power Attack |
| Turn 3 | Power Attack (Will Change to Enraged State) |
| Turn 4 From Enraged State |
Power Attack |
| Turn 5 | Feral Inferno Breath |
In its Normal State, Feral Espinas will unleash either a Power Attack or Feral Inferno Breath. The latter is a single target skill that applies Wyvernsoul Def Down to the Feral Espinas afterwards.
During this state, attacking its Wings with Blightstone, will cause a Backlash Attack.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 From the Normal State |
Raging Rush |
| Turn 2 | Feral Inferno Breath |
| Turn 3 | Speed Attack |
| Turn 4 | Feral Inferno Breath |
| Turn 5 | Feral Inferno Raid Revert back to Normal State |
During the Enraged State, the Feral Espinas will use Speed Attacks and two new skills. It will still use Feral Inferno Breath but will now also use Raging Rush, a powerful AoE attack. In addition to this, it will also use Feral Inferno Raid before going back to the Normal State.
It is a very strong AoE attack that can apply Noxious Poision but also Wyvernsoul Def Down to itself.
Stygian Zinogre
|
Aurora Somnacanth
|
Barioth
|
Deviljho
|
The Stygian Zinogre is an ideal Monstie to take down Feral Espinas as it can take advantage of the boss' Dragon weakness and resist its fire attacks. The Deviljho also makes for a good pick for the same reason, the Dragon weakness of Feral Espinas.
The Aurora Somnacanth and Barioth are good picks too as the Feral Espinas is weak to Ice Element skills. However, both of these Monsties are weak to Fire so make sure to switch them out before the Espinas releases its elemental skills.

The Feral Espinas will be at Level 54 when you fight it so level up yourself and your party to be at least Level 50.
How to Level Up Fast

The Feral Espinas can launch a very strong backlash attack when its wings are attacked during the Normal State. Only attack this part during its Enraged state.
Players can save the use of their Kinship Skill until Feral Espinas will unleash Feral Inferno Raid. This is to avoid the massive AoE damage the roster will receive from the attack.
Equip Dragon Element weapons like the Duke's Sinclair or the Fiore Nulo Black to take advantage of the Dragon Element weakness of Feral Espinas.
Equip your Monsties with Fire resistant genes then equip yourself with Fire resistant armor to reduce the damage from the Feral Espinas' strong Fire attacks. Examples of appropriate armor include the Yian Kut Ku U Armor or the Ajarakan Armor.
List of All Genes or Monstie Skills
Players can focus on depleting Wyvernsoul after it releases Feral Inferno Raid or Feral Inferno Breath as it applies Wyvernsoul Down Def to itself.

In its Normal Form, the Feral Espinas will have high resistance to any type of attack so instead of attacking, use these turns to boost your stats, your Kinship gauge with Skills like Solar Cry, and apply Darkness to the enemy.
The Feral Espinas is very susceptible to Darkness, which will help a lot for your team to evade its stronger attacks later on.

The Feral Espinas is located, in the north east area of Canalta Timberland, right next to the Catavan Stand at Lookout Point: Mount Canalta.
To get to the top, head past the waterfall and the log bridging itself to the rocky mountain area above the river. Then turn to the right to see a path between two small cliffsides, the climbable parts should be there on the mountain on the left. It will lead directly to Feral Espinas.
