2. Normal State |
| Normal State | |
|---|---|
| Enraged State |
The Feral Paolumu has 2 states which are its Normal State and Airborne State.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Technical Attack |
| Turn 2 | Lumu Scratch (Will Change to Airborne State) |
In its Normal State, Feral Paolumu will unleash a Technical Attack and Lumu Scratch which is a single target attack that deals substantial damage.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 From the Normal State |
Soaring Body Press (Speed Attack) |
| Turn 2 | Feral Roar |
| Turn 3 | Soaring Body Press (Speed Attack) |
| Turn 4 | Feral Thunder Zone (Will revert back to the Normal State) |
During the Airborne State, it will unleash Soaring Body Press, a Speed Attack. It will also unleash Feral Roar which may possibly Stun your roster but will also apply Wyvernsoul Down Def to the Feral Paolumu itself.
Lastly, it will unleash Feral Thunder Zone on the fourth turn, which is a strong Thunder AoE element skill, right before it reverts back to the Normal State.
Rathian
|
Purple Gypceros
|
This early into the gameplay, with the Feral Paolumu being very weak to Fire, a Rathian, who you hatch during the Main Story, should be strong enough to take on the enemy. Keep in mind however, to switch it out before its last Airborne attack as it is weak to Thunder.
Players can also try out bringing a Purple Gypceros to use Flash. Since the Feral Paolumu is very susceptible to Darkness, this move will help a lot in reducing the enemy's successful hits.

The Feral Paolumu will be at Level 12 when you fight it so level up yourself and your party to be at least Level 10.
How to Level Up Fast
Players can equip Thunder resistant armor, like the Gypceros U armor, to reduce the damage received during its Thunder element skill.
List of All Armor
When engaging in head to heads with the Paolumu, switch up your attack type depending on its state. In its Normal state use Power Attacks and when it is Airborne, use Technical Attacks.
All Monster Weaknesses and Attack Types

Since the Feral Paolumu is very weak to the Darkness, make use of moves like Flash to take advantage of this. Enemies with the Darkness ailment are less likely to land successful hits when attacking.

With the Blightstone on its head, do not attack it as it will cause a counter attack Backlash Para which can paralyze you. You can attack its head when it is Airborne without it causing the counter.

Similar to what players experienced with the Paolumu encountered during the Feral Monster Quest in the Main Story, attack its Neck Pouch when it is Airborne.
List of All Weapons

The Feral Paolumu is located to the south of Mirror Lake, in a grassy clearing. The Feral Monster will be easy to spot as it has a blue powder-like energy surrounding its head.
