List of Contents

Monster Dens are lairs scattered across the map where you can enter and retrieve Monster Eggs from. Once you have entered a Den, explore the area until you find the gathering spot to choose and pick up an egg, before carrying it towards the exit!
Remember that you can only retrieve one egg, but you will be given extra tries in gathering a specific egg until you reach the limit.

Random Dens are dens that randomly spawn in the overworld and they can be found anywhere in the region by exploring. For some Dens, there are monsters that can spot you if you take long to collect the eggs. When a monster is asleep inside the den, a prompt will appear if that monster has awakened.

Endangered Dens appear when you have fended off Invasive Monsters and the quirk of these dens. These dens contain a single egg of an endangered specie and after collecting an egg, you cannot collect any more eggs from there afterward.

Retreat Dens appear when you force a Monster retreat in a fight and can be identified as caves with a nest of eggs on top of it. These dens only contain eggs from the Monster that just retreated. This process is effective and efficient if you want a specific egg to farm.

At nighttime, strange phenomena occur more in Monster Dens. For some Dens, two gathering spots can appear in the area, which can allow you to retrieve two Monster Eggs. Keep in mind that when two gathering spots appear, you will have infinite tries for collecting eggs!
Another phenomenon is that chests can also appear in the dens. You can also defeat Barrel Felynes that occassionally appear at night to gain more EXP along the way.

Egg-hunting buffs are granted through specific dishes designed to provide these boosts when consumed, so make sure to look out for its effects. Take note that you can only have one food buff at a time and that each boost only lasts 30 minutes in-game!

An effective way to increase the chances of making Monsters retreat is to use Paintballs. They can be accessed during fights, as these can drive away Monsters in the process, and trigger Retreat Den spawns. You can get the Paintball recipe from the side quest, A Step Toward Conservation.

It's also important to remember that some eggs come with higher potency, ranging from Very Potent to Highly Potent, which can vary depending on the den's rarity. You must raise the Ecosystem Rank of a specific Monstie to farm more high potent eggs!
