How to Trigger Head to Head
A Head-to-Head can be triggered if you and your opponent are targeting each other directly. Learn more about how to trigger Head-to-Heads and how to win them in this guide!

How to Trigger Head-to-Heads

Attack Your Enemies Directly

Line Type Effect
Yellow ・An opposing Monster will attack you.
Blue ・Your Monstie, Battle Ally, or Ally's Monstie will trigger a Head-to-Head.

You can also anticipate the incoming attacks by watching the Battle Lines. When it's yellow, it means that the enemy will attack you. If it's blue, this means that a Head-to-Head will be triggered by your Monstie, Battle Ally, or your Ally's Monstie. To trigger a Head-to-Head, you must attack the opposing Monster on the other end of the yellow line!

Use the Gunlance Skill Single Combat

Single Combat

Alternatively, you can also use Single Combat, a Gunlance skill that can redirect any blue line in your direction. This will enable you to take over any Head-to-Head clashes you and your battle allies would face.

Learn and Change Your Attack Types During Clash

Always win the head-to-head.png

Take note that there are three Attack Types, which are Power, Speed, and Technical. The key here is to remember that Power beats Technical, Technical beats Speed, and Speed beats Power. If you attack the opponent with the same attack type as yours, the clash will end in a Draw.

Also remember that a Monster's attack type changes when it's enraged or in a different form, so make sure to anticipate their behavior and status!

Triggers A Double Attack

Double Attacks
