In Monster Hunter Stories 3, you can use Kinship Skills by filling up your Kinship Gauge through consecutive attacks and Double Attacks. Learn how to fight enemies while riding your Monsties and execute Kinship Skills in this guide!

The Kinship Gauge is the tear-shaped meter indicating how close can a Kinship Skill be performed and it is located on the left of your health bar. To increase the Gauge, you need to land hits on opponents, which can grant the party member who attacked to receive that boost.

Using Double Attacks can make a huge difference in filling up the Kinship Gauge quickly, since it doubles the boost, and raise your chances of winning the fight!
Double Attacks occur when you and your Monstie win a Head-to-Head against the same targeted opponent. However, Double Attacks will not happen if a Skill is used.

Synchro Rush occurs when you have toppled the Monster by reducing their Wyvernsoul Gauge or Stock to zero. When a button appears urging you to press it, follow the sequence to unleash powerful attacks. These attacks from Synchro Rush can greatly contribute to filling the Kinship Gauge!

Once the Kinship Gauge is filled, you must mount your Monstie by pressing R on PC, LT for Xbox, and Y for Switch 2. Remember that the riding will end if you reach zero HP, lose two Head-to-Heads in the fight, or finish using the Kinship Skills. When mounted, attack the enemy to deal significant damage.

When you want to aim for Double Kinship attacks, you must fill both party members' Gauges, and have them ride their respective Monsties. Double Kinship increasingly adds great damage, which is crucial against strong enemies!

For some Kinship Skills, buff effects are given depending on the nature of the Monstie. One example is Tobi-Kadachi's Kadachi Fury, which can provide thunder damage to opponents while also granting the Rider a Thunder Attack Up during the fight.
