How to Get Better Monster Genes
Gather Rare Eggs
First, you can get Monsters with better genes by gathering rare eggs from Monster Dens. Rare eggs are described as either very potent or highly potent when you pick them up.
Look for Rare Dens
You're more likely to find rare eggs from Rare and Super Rare Dens, which are colored yellow and blue, respectively. These will also appear in your map, so you can easily find these Rare Dens and fast travel to Catavan Stands near them.
Raise Your Ecosystem Rank
Through Habitat Restoration, you can also increase your Ecosystem Rank for certain species. By raising a specie's ecosystem rank, you'll also be more likely to find rare eggs of that specie in Monster Dens within the area where you're restoring them.

Transfer Genes Using Rite of Channeling
As you progress through the story, you'll also unlock the ability to use Rite of Channeling in the Stables. This will allow you to transfer genes between two of your Monsties. Specifically, you can take good genes from your spare Monsties and add it to your optimized Monsties.
Raise Monstie Level or Use Catalyst Key
Some gene slots are locked, preventing you from transferring more genes to a Monstie. To unlock these, you must either level up a Monstie, which unlocks a gene, or use Catalyst Keys, which opens up a free gene slot.
