| Normal State | |
|---|---|
| Enraged |
Feral Nerscylla have 2 phases which are its normal state and enraged.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Technical Attack |
| Turn 2 | Sealing Needle |
| Turn 3 | Feral Sleep Gas It will go Enraged at the end of the turn |
This is the state Feral Nerscylla starts with and has a glowing crystallized part. In a head-to-head, it will always use a Technical attack so make sure to counter with a Power attack type. Beware that attacking its Needle part during this state will result in a a counterattack, Backlash (Fire), that deals fire damage to the attacker.
Once it has used a Feral Sleep Gas, which is an AoE Sleep skill, or you managed to interrupt its attacks, at the end of the turn it will always transform to its Enraged state.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Sleeping Needle Sleep Chaser (only if Feral Sleep Gas was able to inflict sleep from the previous turn) |
| Turn 2 | Speed Attack |
| Turn 3 | Sleep Chaser Feral Sleep Gas (only if Feral Nerscylla wasn't able to inflict Sleep by turn 3) |
| Turn 4 | Feral Spreading Beam It will go back to Normal at the end of the turn |
In this state, Feral Nerscylla will stop glowing and will try to inflict the Sleep status ailment on turns 1 and 3. If it managed to inflict Sleep, it will first use a Speed attack so make sure to counter it with a Technical attack then it will use Sleep Chaser the turn after its Speed attack. However, if it missed, unable to inflict sleep or interrupted then it will try again with a Feral Sleep Gas on turn 3.
At turn 4, it will always use Feral Spreading Beam to deal AoE fire damage then immediately switch to Normal state at the end of the turn.
Yian Kut-Ku
|
Royal Ludroth
|
Feral Nerscylla is weak to Water monstie or attacks while dealing constant fire damage. The best monstie to use are Yian Kut-Ku for technical and fire resistance coverage, and Royal Ludroth for power and water attacks coverage.
If you are able to obtain the eggs of Boltreaver Astalos and Anjanath then use them instead for the same reason stated above to have more resistance against fire and deal more damage to Feral Nerscylla.
List of All Monsties (Monster List)
Before fighting Feral Nerscylla, make sure to equip water element weapons to deal more damage and Fire or Sleep resist armor such as the Kut-Ku Armor or Nerscylla Armor to take reduced fire damage or increase the chance of resisting sleep if you are unable to avoid it.
The best battle ally to use for this fight is Ogden. Him and his monstie has normal resistance against fire attacks while using non-elemental and technical attacks which can counter one of its attack types. He can also provide various buffs and can disrupt its actions with traps.
During the fight, if you are unable to avoid the Sleep skills, Feral Nerscylla will give you one turn to cure it. If you are not able to cure the sleep, it will use Sleep Chaser which is a priority attack that will almost always activate before your turn.
Once it is in the Enraged state, always focus on its Needle part and try to destroy its part. It will help you survive attacks once destroyed as it will transform its Feral skills to its weaker version which deals less damage and has a lower chance to inflict ailments.
When it is about to use a Feral move on turn 3 (Normal) or turn 4 (Enraged), make sure that you are close to staggering or have stored your kinship gauge enough to use a kinship skill to disrupt it from using said Feral skills.

Feral Nerscylla is an optional boss you can encounter residing in the Mirror Lake near the edge of Broadleaf Basin northwest of Azuria Castle.
