The Feral Aknosom has 2 states which are its Normal and Enraged state.
Normal State

Although being an Ice Category Monstie, the Feral Aknosom will also use a lot of strong Fire type skills during its normal state, both AOE and single target. In addition to this, the Blightstone on its head will be active. Watch out for its counter that can apply Skillseal.

During its Enraged State, the Feral Aknosom will now also use Ice type moves like Feral Ice Wave or Feral Ice Drill. These moves can apply Skillseal to the opponent and will apply Wyvernsoul Def Down to the Feral Aknosom itself.
During this state, it will also use Power attacks, so take note to switch to Speed attacks when engaging in a head to head.

With its weakness to Thunder attacks, having a Tobi-Kadachi in your roster helps greatly in defeating the Feral Aknosom. Additionally, the Dreadqueen Rathian is another good option for its high Fire resistance and Speed attacks to cover head to heads when it is Enraged.

Level Up to at Least Level 25
The Feral Aknosom will be at Level 27 when you fight it so level up yourself and your party to be at least Level 25.
Equip Fire Resistant Armor
The Feral Aknosom will launch Fire type moves every now and then so having Fire resistant armor can help reduce the damage received. We recommend the Kut-Ku U armor for its good defense and its strong Fire resistance.
Use Thunder Type Weapons
In addition to our recommendation of the Tobi-Kadachi, the Protagonist can also hold a Thunder type weapon to take advantage of the Feral Aknosom's Elemental Weakness. In particular, the Spark Slicer makes for a good choice as it helps cover attacking the boss' body parts with the Slash type weakness.
Switch Monsties for Head to Heads in Its Different States
When engaging in head to heads make sure to switch between Monsties for its Normal State (Use a Power Type) and its Enraged State (Use a Speed Type).
Do Not Attack Its Head in the Normal State
Avoid attacking the Feral Aknosom on its head, during its Normal State, as that is where the Blightstone is. If that part is attacked, it will unleash a strong attack, Backlash (Seal). This counter could apply Skillseal to the attacker.
Players, however, can attack the head during the Enraged State as it will not initiate the counter attack.

Fought During the Ward Main Quest
The Feral Aknosom is encountered during the Ward Main Quest. Specifically, the group of rangers venture deeper into the area with the use of their Canyne's digging ability.
