How to Break Body Parts

You can break the enemy Monster's body parts by choosing which section you want to attack. Learn more about how to target a specific body part and break them in this guide!

How to Break Body Parts

Use The Correct Weapon Type

Use the Correct Weapon Type

To break body parts, you must use the correct weapon type to carry out the attack. In the case of fighting the Feral Chatacabra, Pierce and Blunt damage are crossed out when targeting the head of this particular Monster, meaning you can only damage that specific part with Slash Damage!

Use Kinship Skills

Kinship Skills can also be used to deal massive damage to the enemy Monster's body parts! This is done by filling up the Kinship Gauges of your character and Battle Allies by continuously landing Normal Attacks, Double Attacks, and winning Head-to-Heads!

Broken Parts Bonus Effects Are Triggered

Broken Parts Bonuses.png

When a body part breaks, the corresponding Break Bonus of that attack will be inflicted. Some examples include bonuses such as Wyvernsoul Damage, Topple, and Stun.

List of Broken Part Effects

Body Part Bonus Effect Description
Stun Cancels actions for that turn.
Topple Downs the target.
Transform Causes a transformation to occur.
Transform/Parts Broken Cause a transformation via broken parts.
Enfeeble Increases the damage to the broken part.
Weaken Skills Weakens some skills.
Wyvernsoul Damage Greatly depletes the Wyvernsoul Gauge.

To easily Topple a Monster, you must target the parts that trigger Wyvernsoul Damage. For example, the Feral Chatacabra's head is prone to this certain type of bonus damage!

Applies Wyvernsoul Gauge Damage

Wyvernsoul Gauge 1.png

The Wyvernsoul Gauge represents the enemy's endurance to fight. Depleting this bar is necessary, as this can lead to trigger Topple, which in turn can follow up critical damage, and damaging body parts reduce a Monster's Wyvernsoul Gauge.

Remember that the Wyvernsoul Damage you see in the body part prompt is separate from the damage you're already inflicting to the enemy's Wyvernsoul Gauge, which you achieve by attacking the part with the correct weapon type.
