How to Farm EXP in the Early Game
Progress Story Quests
During the early stages of the game, you must progress the story to level up fast. Finishing the main story quests will not only immerse you in the game, but will also reward you with EXP for completing them as well!
Consume Grain Dishes to Increase Battle-Gained EXP

Another way to speed up EXP farming is to consume Grain dishes that boost the EXP gained in battle, such as the Oven-Baked Bread and Powerfruit Noodlebread. You can cook Grain dishes in a Camp!
How to Farm EXP in the Mid-Game
Complete Available Side Quests
There are multiple Side Quests in Monster Hunter Stories 3, and each one provides a reward upon completion, including varying amounts of EXP.
Defeat Barrel Felynes
Barrel Felynes give a lot of EXP when defeated, but they have a low chance of appearing, have high defenses, and flee quickly. In order to defeat them before they flee, use fixed damage items and skills as these will bypass their high defenses.
You can bring Kora as a Battle Ally as she holds throwable bombs that do fixed area damage that can hit multiple enemies at once. The Launch Bomb will be used by Kora in the first turn, which deals AoE damage and is guaranteed to defeat every Barrel Felyne in just one turn!
How to Farm Battle Felynes

| 1 |  Cook Firecracker Grill at Ranger Mess. You can purchase Veggie Lover Recipe 1 from the Melynx Emporium. |
| 2 | When you have collected the dish, change the time to night. |
| 3 | Enter a Monster Den during nighttime. If Barrel Felynes aren't present in the Den you've just entered, exit and enter another lair. If you do spot them in a den, attack and defeat each one with Kora in your party. |
| 4 | Repeat the process until you have cleared out all the dens. |
| 5 | Once you clear the dens, leave the area by fast traveling to another location to reset them! |
Exploring Monster Dens at night after having consumed Firecracker Grill and having Kora in your party can help you farm the Barrel Felynes.
How to Farm EXP in the Late Game
Defeat Monsters With Red Icons
High-level monsters, which are marked with a red icon, also reward you with a lot of EXP if you defeat them. These monsters are very powerful in combat and can be difficult to defeat, so try finding smaller high-level monsters to fight instead.
Combat System Guide: How to Win Battles
Defeat Arkvelds in Dens
It is also recommended to defeat Arkvelds in the Dens to gain more EXP. Carefully plan your attacks, choose the correct weapons, and utilize Ratha's abilities to beat the Monster!
