2. Normal State 3. Enraged
|
| Normal State | |
|---|---|
| Enraged |
Feral Gypceros has 2 states which are its Normal and Enraged.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Power Attack |
| Turn 2 Will transition to Enraged state at turn end |
Venom (Single-Target Skill) |
During the Normal state, Feral Gypceros will have a glowing blightstone on its head while unleashing Power attacks so make sure to counter it with a Speed attack. This state will only last for 2 turns and it will do a backlash attack when you hit its head.
After using its skippable single-target skill on the 2nd turn, it will switch to the enraged state at turn end.
| Turn Count | Move |
|---|---|
| Turn 1 | Flash (AoE Skill) |
| Turn 2 | Venom (Single-Target Skill) |
| Turn 3 | Pursuing Tail Whip (Technical Attack) |
| Turn 4 Will transition to Normal state at turn end |
Feral Noxious Spit (AoE Skill) |
In this state, the blightstone on Feral Glypceros stops glowing making it possible to hit its head without the risk of getting hit by a backlash. It will now use Technical attacks so make sure to counter it with a Power attack.
At turn 4, it will try to do a skippable AoE skill that can hit you for all of your health and a chance to inflict poison if you are not prepared. After that, it will switch back to the Normal state at turn end.
Ratha
|
Dreadqueen Rathian
|
The best monstie to bring in this fight are Ratha and Dreadqueen Rathian. Feral Gypceros is weak to fire attacks therefore, Ratha and Dreadqueen Rathians attacks can deal more damage against it. They also cover the two attack types you need in this fight, Speed and Power attacks.

The state you end up after completing the Feral Velocidrome fight will carry over in the Feral Gypceros fight. It means that your health, hearts, stamina, buffs and debuffs will remain so make sure to do your best in that fight so that you are prepared for this boss too.
How to Beat Dual Feral Velocidrome
In this fight, Feral Gypceros is at level 12. If you can resist water attacks, it is enough to fight it at levels 8-10 so that you can survive its attacks then heal it back especially its status ailments.
EXP Guide: How to Level Up Fast
Feral Gypceros is weak against fire attacks while dealing water attacks therefore, use fire weapons and specifically equip the Edel Armor so that you have high resistance against Water and Poison while having neutral resistance against Fire and Ice which is also great because you will also wear this against the Feral Velocidrome fight.
You can find the recipe for the Edel Armor once you complete the Finding the Regalfin Sidequest in Azuria.
Make sure to avoid targeting the head part during its Normal state. Always check if your monstie is targeting it and if they do, redirect it to another part to avoid taking high single-target backlash damage.
You can also set your allies to target the same part that you did in the previous turn if you set their strategies before the fight to Prioritize Same Monster. You can do this by going in the menu, change battle allies then strategies on the top left of the screen.
You can also use a Hunting Horn with a Bolstering Ballad skill to prevent any status ailment inflicted to your party for 3 turns. Make sure to case this at the first turn during its Normal state so that Fruit Frenzy will not be able to inflict any status ailment.

After you are done fighting the two Feral Velocidrome by yourself, you will initiate another fight immediately against Feral Gypceros but thankfully with the help of Simon as part of the Tracks main story quest in Broadleaf Basin, Azuria.
