Every monster egg has a specific pattern corresponding to the Monster Genus of the monster inside it.

Hatch Eggs to Improve Identification

The first time you pick up an egg from a Monster Den, your companion will identify the genus associated with the pattern, such as Bird Wyvern. As you hatch eggs at camp or your home base, the identification will specify the monster species, making it easier to target specific monsters for egg retrieval.

Eggs are scattered around the world of Monster Hunter Stories 3, located in the many Monster Dens that continuously spawn around the map. Simply enter the Monster Den and begin picking eggs from the nest, then leave when you've reached your limit or found the egg you want.

Hatching Eggs
...and hatch your eggs!

You can hatch newly retrieved eggs as long as you have room in your Monstie Roster by selecting Stables from the menu at a Camp, or visiting the Stables at your home base in Azuria.

Up to twelve eggs can be hatched at a time!
