Here's how to revive characters in Honkai: Star Rail. Check out this guide for how to revive characters during combat, outside of a battle, and also in the Simulated Universe!

How to Revive in Honkai: Star Rail

Reviving in Combat

Honkai Star Rail - Departure Warp

The only way to revive allies during a battle is through character abilities. So far, only 5 star characters have the ability to revive someone and the only way to obtain them is through the gacha system!

Bailu’s Talent can Revive Allies

Honkai Star Rail - Gourdful of Elixir Triggered

Bailu, a 5 star Lightning character, is the only one who can revive others due to her Talent. When an ally receives a killing blow, they will be revived by Bailu if she is not disabled. It’s worth knowing that she can revive others whether they are invigorated or not.

Note that E0 Bailu can only revive once per battle. If you have her at E6, then she can revive allies twice!

Gepard’s Talent is a Self-Revive

Honkai Star Rail - Unyielding Will Triggered

Gepard, a 5 star Ice character, is the only one so far who has a self-revive. His talent allows him to restore a certain amount of HP after an enemy deals a killing blow. Note that Gepard’s talent can only trigger once per battle!

Reviving Outside of Combat

Stand Near a Space Anchor

Honkai Star Rail - Space Anchor Menu

The most common way to revive characters when not fighting is to stand near a space anchor. Unless toggled off, standing beside one will automatically restore the HP of your team. Additionally, you can also set the HP Restore Value which allows you to control how much health it restores!

Use Consumables

Item Effect
Heals downed allies for 5% of their Max HP
Heals downed allies for 10% of their Max HP
Heals downed allies for 10% of their Max HP
Heals downed allies for 30% of their Max HP

The Consumables in the table above can be used to revive a downed character outside of combat! The best time to use these items is when you are far away from the nearest space anchor and you don’t want to backtrack!

In the Simulated Universe

Honkai Star Rail - Simulated Universe Menu

The Simulated Universe is an imitation of the world of Honkai: Star Rail. It's a rogue-like combat challenge where your progress resets when your team gets wiped!

Use the reviver

Honkai Star Rail - Reviver in the Simulated Universe

One way to revive characters in the Simulated Universe is to use the Reviver machine in the Domain — Respite. Note that you need to use Cosmic Fragments when reviving characters!

The Reviver machine can be unlocked after unlocking a few sections in the Ability Tree. To level up the Ability Tree, you need Ability Points which you earn after a Simulated Universe run.

Get the Fruit of the Alien Tree Curio

Curio Effect
Star Rail - Fruit of the Alien TreeFruit of the Alien Tree After winning a battle, revive all downed characters in the current team and restore their HP to their Max HP. This Curio will be destroyed once this effect has been triggered 1 times.

Curios are special items in the Simulated Universe that provide players with various effects and can be obtained during your run.

Fruit of the Alien Tree is the only Curio so far that can revive characters in the Simulated Universe. Unless you really need to revive multiple characters, it's better to get Curios that are useful in battle like the Punklorde Mentality!

Get the Reflection Blessing

Blessing Effect
Reflection
Effect:
When struck with a killing blow, instead of becoming downed, characters immediately restore HP by 1% of their Max HP. The allied team can only trigger this effect 1 time(s) per battle.
Enhanced Effect:
When struck with a killing blow, instead of becoming downed, characters immediately restore HP by 30% of their Max HP. The allied team can only trigger this effect 1 time(s) per battle.

Blessings are special buffs that you obtain in the Simulated Universe. Reflection is a Blessing of Destruction that works similarly to Gepard's Talent. This is a great pick-up for bosses such as Svarog that can easily down members of your team!
