+Atk/-Spd

The best IVs for Halloween Dorcas are +Atk and -Spd. Dorcas does not rely on follow-up attacks to deal damage as he has Wary Fighter 3, even if you're going to get a skill like Vengeful Fighter 3, stacking Spd will still not be relevant. This makes Atk very valuable as it increases Dorcas' damage in multiple kits. As discussed, Spd is not of importantce to Dorcas so you can safely take it as a bane.

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Halloween Dorcas to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. At this point, Dorcas can take out a wide range of enemies in one hit.

How to Use, Explanation

This build makes H!Dorcas a tank that works well in both player and enemy phase. Taking the +Def refine of Hack-o'-Lantern+' will increase his overall bulk and increase the damage of his Special. Atk/Def Ideal will increase his defenses, while Slick Fighter gives him a guaranteed follow-up attack. A/D Near Save will allow him to tank damage for his allies, while Noontime and Mystic Boost give him sustain to keep Atk/Def Ideal active.

Halloween Dorcas is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Slows Enemy Specials

Hack-o'-Lantern+ inflicts special cooldown charge -1 per attack. This allows Halloween Dorcas and his allies to take less damage from enemies. This skill is also very helpful in Grand Hero Battles where delaying enemy specials is very important as enemy specials in those maps are very powerful.

Additionally, this makes Halloween Dorcas a great match-up for units running set-ups that make specials very quick to trigger such as Slaying Edge+ or Brave Sword as the weapon skill and slapping Sacred Seals such as Flashing Blade and Quickened Pulse for quick Moonbow or Glimmer activations.

Sturdy Stance Improves Physical Durability

Sturdy Stance 2 grants Dorcas +4 to Atk/Def whenever the foe initiates combat. This allows Halloween Dorcas to be a decent solo unit in the enemy phase, but look out for units with Armorslayer+. Do not let those units initiate on Dorcas.

Halloween Dorcas Weaknesses

Armored movement!

Halloween Dorcas enjoys the high stats of an armored unit, but this means that he suffers from armored movement as well. Without the use of proper Sacred Seals like Armored Boots and skills like Armored March 3, he will be crippled by very limited movement. It will be most likely that the enemy will get to him first before he is able to initiate. However, this is where Sturdy Stance 2 and Wary Fighter 3 kicks-in so do not be worried if Dorcas gets initiated upon.

Weak to Dragon Effective Weapons

Halloween Dorcas takes 1.5x damage from dragon-effective weapons like Falchion or Naga, and one blow from these types of weapons is sure to take him down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
