Battle Strategies

Get Rid of Fury Immediately

Fury can be incited among your party members using Clarus' ability, Money Talks. Bring Fury Recovery Pellets or use Geela's Heal What Ails You to heal them from Fury.

Double Items

Use 2 items in quick succession. Power: - Range: 0-0 (Height -0 - +0)

Should multiple units be inflicted with Fury, use Medina's ability, Double Items, not only to heal them, but also to give them TP.

Fight a Defensive Battle

Most of the enemy cavalry will be rushing towards your position. Let them go through the small gaps in the barricades while taking them out from a distance, one by one.

Arrow Spray

Deal physical damage to all enemies within range. Power: 60 Range: 1-3 (Height -2 - +2)

Archibald's Arrow Spray is particularly useful in this battle. Firing off area-of-effect spells on grouped up enemies in the barricades is just as effective.

In addition, use Scorch or Icy Breath to damage multiple enemies at the same time!

Beating Clarus

While Clarus is immune to Poison, Immobility, Blindness, Temptation, and Instant Death, he can still be afflicted by Slumber.

Slumber Stab

Deal physical damage to an enemy, and have a chance to put them to sleep for 2 turn(s). Power: 21 Range: 1-1 (Height -2 - +2)

Use Anna's Slumber Stab to afflict him with sleep. Once out of the battle, players can focus on other enemy units or move in to surround him.

Chapter 18B General Tips

Be Wary of Status Changes

Status Changes play a vital role for this battle, both for your party and for the enemy units.

Clarus will use his ability, Money Talks, and take advantage of your units inflicted with Fury. To prevent any complications, it is best to cure any party member inflicted by Fury immediately.

On the other hand, a lot of enemy units in this battle have high mobility, allowing them to get from one point to the next quickly. This then proves to be dangerous as they could simply just gang up on your units.

Immobilizing enemies or making them sleep can help out with controlling the crowd of enemies, limiting their moves momentarily.
