Joins Through Character Stories

Jens joins through Character Stories. Characters who will join your party from Character Stories are affected by Serenoa's Conviction. You need to reach a certain number of points for Morality, Utility, and Liberty to get them. However, these values are hidden on your first playthrough. The only way for you to check how many points you have gathered for each is to finish your first playthrough and unlock New Game Plus.

You'll know a character story is available by checking its icon on the lower right section of the map. Press the + button to watch the character story and possibly recruit a new member of your team!

Recommended Weapon Upgrades

Hammer

One of Jens' Exclusive Weapon Ability can be accessed on his first weapon rank. Depending on the map where you will be using Jens, you can opt for Jump Up I if the map is full of cliffs and hills so you can build ladders easily, or Movement Up I if it is relatively flat, which makes it easy to charge onto enemies and inflict status conditions with your other abilities.

Warhammer

Jens' Spring Traps are very useful in maps with high places, as it can push enemy units off the tiles and deal fall damage once they are below. The Spring Trap TP -1 is a great upgrade for these situations, and can be obtain on Jens' second weapon rank.

Hammer of Creation

Jens can learn and use Automatic Turret after upgrading his weapon to its third rank. Although you can only spawn one turret at a time, it is useful to have in the field especially against enemy units that tend to charge towards your units.
