Complete Story Walkthrough

Protect Roland to keep him in your party

If you choose to protect Roland, he will stay in your party and you will be able to use him for all the battles between Chapter 7 and Chapter 9.

However, if you surrender him, he will be removed from your roster and you will not be able to use him in battles for a few chapters, missing out on precious experience and levels.

Once he returns to your party, he will still be at the same level when he left. You now have to grind for experience to level him up and let him catch up not only to the rest of your team but also to the levels of the enemies you'll face.

Roland's high offensive and mobility stats makes him a great unit to use during battles, and not being able to deploy him might leave you at a disadvantage.

Best Units Tier List and Strongest Characters to Recruit

Either Choice is Eligible for the Golden Route

It doesn't matter if you choose to protect or surrender Roland in Chapter 7 as no choice between the two will lock you out of the Golden Route.

However, the fire traps in the fight with Avlora when you choose to protect Roland must not be destroyed, as it is essential that the statues are intact later on in the game.

Do not use statues in Chapter 7a if aiming for Golden Route

Fire Traps

If you chose to protect Roland, you will fight Avlora and Aesfrosti forces at Wolffort Streets after the voting phase. If you are aiming for the Golden Route, do not use the statues set along the map as it is important for the Golden Route. These statues are fire traps have a role to play later on in the route, so be careful not to destroy them during the fight with Avlora.

It is highly recommended to save before starting the battle so you can simply reset the game in case you accidentally destroy the statues.
