Serenoa | Silver Sword: Hawk Dive Range +1 Sword of Libra: Rout and Recover |
Upgrading Serenoa's weapon to rank 2 not only allows him to improve his weapon damage, but also buffs his abilities. One of his Exclusive Weapon Abilities is Hawk Dive Range +1, which increases the target range of the attack. This is useful for maintaining a safe distance from enemies while still being able to damage them.
Further upgrading Serenoa's weapon will grant him access to his passive Rout and Recover, which enables him to recover health when he knocks out an enemy. This is very useful to keep Serenoa afloat, especially if you are using him as one of your main attackers.
Unit | Weapon Upgrades |
---|---|
Frederica | Tome of Flames: Scorch Damage Up K.O. TP+ |
The upgrades available for Frederica's second weapon rank boosts her offensive capabilities. K.O. TP+ allows Frederica to have self-sustain her own TP, as long as she can keep defeating enemies. You can improve this by getting Scorch Damage Up to make the ability stronger and take down enemies faster.
Unit | Weapon Upgrades |
---|---|
Geela | Ice Rod: Haste Duration +1 / Haste Effect Up Sage's Rod: Miraculous Light |
Geela's first weapon upgrade improves her Haste ability via her Exclusive Weapon Abilities, which can either extend the duration or increase the effect.
Getting Geela's third weapon will allow her to revive one of your units once if they fall in battle. Miraculous Light can be very useful for attackers that die often, or for prolonging the role of defensive units in the field.

Anna | Silver Dagger: Back Attack Damage Up Surmount TP -1 |
Anna's Silver Dagger upgrades boost her flanking abilities. You can purchase the upgrade Back Attack Damage Up to be more effective when attacking from behind enemy lines.
Additionally, getting Surmount TP -1 makes the ability essentially free to use, as it will remove the TP cost completely.
Unit | Weapon Upgrades |
---|---|
Hughette | Greatbow: Insult to Injury Shadowstitching Arrow Duration +1 / Blinding Arrow Duration +1 |
Insult to Injury, which is a passive skill Hughette can obtain on her second weapon rank, can be useful to finish off enemies at low health from a safe distance. This skill increases Hughette's critical hit rate when her target is below 50% health.
You can also get her Exclusive Weapon Abilities, which extends the duration of either Shadowstitching Arrow or Blinding Arrow.

---|---|
Julio | Curved Greatsword: Moment of Truth TP -1 |
Julio's second weapon rank contain the upgrade Moment of Truth TP -1, which is incredibly useful especially if you always use Julio in battles to have a constant supply of TP for your team. Ezana | Hardwood Staff: Rainy Day, Lightning Damage Up Raging Winds, Wind Damage Up Oak Staff: Rite of Rain TP -1 Rite of Tempests TP -1 |
The passive skills Rainy Day, Lightning Damage Up and Raging Winds, Wind Damage Up is a perfect early pickup for Ezana as it synergizes well with her weather-changing abilities Rite of Rain and Rite of Tempests respectively.
If you upgrade Ezana's weapon to rank 2, you can build up from the previously mentioned upgrades by getting Rite of Rain TP -1 and Rite of Tempests TP -1. This is essential to Ezana as she relies heavily on TP for her attacks and her skills that change the weather.

Milo | Scarlet Fan: Green Mist Duration +1 / Blue Night Duration +1 Evasion Upgrades Speed Upgrades |
Upgrades for Milo's second weapon makes her more nimble, with upgrades available for her Evasion and Speed. Her Exclusive Weapon Abilities also extends the duration of either Green Mist or Blue Night.
In general, stat upgrades are a great investment for units to improve their potential in the field. For units that you use for attacking, get Weapon Damage, Magic, and Speed upgrades, while make your defensive units more tanky by getting Physical, Magic, and HP Up upgrades.
For those units that you prefer moving all around the map, get their Evasion, Movement, or Jump upgrades.
You need a ton of materials if you plan on upgrading all of your units to be as useful as possible, so make sure to stock up on these!
How to Farm Materials for Weapon Upgrades
To upgrade your weapon to its next rank, head to the Smithy in the Encampment. Choose which unit you want its weapon upgraded, and select the unit icon to upgrade.
You first need to obtain the materials required to get the next Weapon Rank. The icons will be greyed out if you have incomplete materials.
All units will start at Weapon Rank 1, and you need to unlock them in order to get the highest Weapon Rank.
Encampment Features and Things To Do
Similar to upgrading weapons, Weapon Abilities can be obtained at the Smithy in the Encampment. You can see a list of all available Weapon Abilities per unit in the menu.
The materials and Coins needed to obtain Weapon Abilities increase as you unlock more. It is then recommended to obtain Weapon Abilities that suit the way you use a certain unit.
You can check out our pages on individual weapons to see what materials are required for every weapon!
Weapon Ranks are physical weapon upgrades that every playable unit can obtain. Acquiring one of these will change your unit's equipped weapon, and allow them to deal more regular attack damage.
Upgrading a unit's weapon to a higher rank will also allow it to learn more Weapon Abilities and make it stronger in battles. You cannot obtain higher Weapon Abilities unless you unlock the required Weapon Rank for the upgrade.
Weapon Abilities are a set of unlockable stat boosts or skills for each Weapon Rank. These range from stats that improve a unit's offensive or defensive capabilities, as well as their movement. Some Weapon Abilities also come in the form of active skills that can be used in battles, or passive skills that take effect under certain connditions.
Weapon Abilities that are connected with a vertical line are upgrades that are needed to be unlocked in order. You first need to unlock the topmost upgrade before you can obtain the rest.
Some units have Exclusive Weapon Abilities, which can be seen in the Smithy's menu as icons enclosed in a box. You only need to obtain one of the Abilities and both will be unlocked, but only one can be active at a time. You can switch these anytime at the Smithy.
