Forgive me my sentimentality. I promise I'm ready to do what must be done. Why did you always train on the bridge? Surely the castle itself held better venues?
(Increases Liberty)
It is also where we were forced to flee for our lives. How fitting, then, that it should figure into our counterattack.
(Increases Morality)
I understand that this bridge holds many memories for you, but this plan will allow us to trap the enemy and save lives. I think it a small price to pay for that.

Furthermore... Well, I trust you know what I mean to say. Indeed. We have much left to do, and I for one, shall learn all I can about the Aelfric.
(Increases Utility)
Yes, and I agree. Milo is all too eager for the battle ahead.
(Increases Liberty)
Aye. Me we limit damage to the crown city and castle, should the worst come to pass.

Battle Strategies

Push Enemies Back

Triangle Strategy - Surrounded by Enemies

Enemies come from both sides of the bridge. Take care not to get too surrounded or have multiple units grouped up together. Thalas and Erica both have area of effect spells that work well against grouped up units.

Pushback Deal physical damage to an enemy and knock them back 3 squares.
Power: 73
Range: 1-1 (Height -2 - +2)

Use Erador's Ram Foe or Roland's Pushback in order to keep enemies at a safe distance.

Try Not to Fall off the Bridge

Fierce Wind Deal wind-type magic damage to enemies across 3 horizontal squares, and knock them back 2 squares.
Power: 83
Range: 1-4 (height -10 - +10)

Thalas uses Fierce Wind, which can knock units off the bridge. Once below the bridge, it can take few turns for your units to climb the ladder, taking them off the battle for quite a bit.

Use the Grounding Amulet on a unit that engages Thalas. Should you have units that have fallen off the bridge, you can speed up the process of getting back to the field by using the Quietus Lightwave.

Deal With Ranged Units Quickly

Triangle Strategy - Ranged Units

Archers, mages, and healers in this battle are very troublesome. Archers can inflict poison aside from being able to damage units from afar.

On the other hand, mages also cast Spark, which deals massive damage to close-range units like Serenoa.

Life Magic Grant regen to an ally for 3 turn(s), automatically restoring a little HP at the start of their turn.
Power: -
Range: 0-5 (Height -10 - +10)

Finally, enemy healers use Life Magic that can heal their allies passively for 3 turns. Be especially wary of this ability as it can easily negate the damage you've dealt onto them by just regenerating.

Exploit Their Weakness to Ice Magic

Triangle Strategy - Exploit Weakness to Ice Magic
Both Erika and her archers can throw oil at your units, then proceed to light a fire using Fire Arrow or Playing with Fire.

It is recommended to move your units outside of the oil placed by the enemies to prevent further damage dealt by fire skills at the given terrain.

Icy Breath Deal ice-type magic damage to all enemies within range and freeze the ground.
Power: 34
Range: 0-4 (Height -10 - +10)

Be sure to take advantage of their weakness to Ice by deploying Corentin. His skills, namely Icy Breath or Frosty Fetters will do massive damage and could easily wipe out these mages.

Chapter 13c General Tips

Take Advantage of Quietuses

Using a Quietus

Quietuses are an extremely helpful set of commands that can help your units in a multitude of ways. To name a few, certain Quitetuses can influence turn count, damage dealt, unit positioning, and more.

In this case, should you be pushed back by Thalas' magic or shoved by a shieldbearer off the bridge, using the Quietus Lightwave is ideal.

However, it is only recommended to use for units who you wish to bring back to the battlefield as fast as possible, namely units that can deal massive damage and the like.

Provided that you have the Quietus Points for them, using these commands will make Serenoa and his allies a force to be reckoned with.
