Mock Battles are accessible through the Tavern in the Encampment.
These are practice battles that do not affect the story directly, but still give out resources such as Kudos and are a good way to gain EXP to level up your party.
Thanks to Anna's Act Twice ability, she can score twice as much Kudos if she is positioned for backstabs.
Do not worry about mindlessly sending her deep into enemy lines as Mock Battles are relatively easy compared to Main Story battles.
Multiple Kudos-generating mechanics can be triggered in a single action. A backstab plus follow-up attack combo is recommended as they are are both easy to set-up comapred to other combos.
For efficient Kudos farming, take advantage of Roland's mobility to position him for follow-up attacks when Anna hunts for backstabs. Anna's Act Twice also enables Roland or any of her allies score two follow-up attacks.
Playing in harder difficulties increases the amount of Kudos you get per battle as fights will last longer.
Doing this will give players more opportunities to score Kudos-generating attacks! If your team can tolerate it, consider playing in a harder difficulty.

A follow-up attack occurs when a unit attacks a foe while an ally is on the opposite side of that foe.
Pay attention to unit positioning and maximize your units' mobility to score tons of follow-up attacks!
A backstab occurs when a unit attacks the backside of a foe. Backstabs are very easy to perform in tandem with follow-up attacks.
Aim for backstabs to maximize damage. Remember that foes can score backstabs too! Be mindful of where your units face before ending their turns.
When a unit attacks a foe while having higher elevation, that counts as utilizing high ground.
For ranged units like Hughette, high ground improves their damage and range. Melee units can also utilize high ground to deal increased damage, but these opportunities will be hard to come by because of their limited range.
Spear users like Roland can simultaneously attack 2 units if there is an enemy unit directly behind his primary unit.
The secondary target should be directly in line with both the spear unit and the primary target for them to be hit by a spear attack. Take advantage of Roland's mobility to land simultaneous attacks.
This can be easily perfomed with other Kudos-generating attacks such as backstabs and follow-up attacks.
Kudos is awarded when area-of-effect attacks such as Frederica's Scorch, which can hit multiple units at once.
Not only does this award Kudos, but Frederica's damage per turn is maximized too. Look out for bundled-up opponents and take advantage of area-of-effect attacks!
Hughette attacking from a safe zone while others do follow-up attacks!
Player units can pass through allies, but they cannot pass through foes and vise-versa. This means that frontliners can create a no-pass area where ranged units like Hughette and Frederica can attack safely from.
Given the difference in durability, it is recommended that players create and utilize safe zones as much as possible to mitigate damage to backline units.
Units can either be resistant or weak against specific weapons. This is a straightforward mechanic that is easy to take advantage of when they come up.
Weaknesses and resistances are indicated by flashing text whenever a unit is selected for a simulation. This not only maximizes damage, but it also awards Kudos.
Due to the straightforward nature of this mechanic, weakness exploitation can easily be combined with other Kudos-generating mechanics.
Kudos operates much like currency at the Sundry Shop when you visit the Encampment.
There, you can exchange your Kudos for Notes, items for weapon upgrades, and even the useful Quietus skills!
You can earn Kudos in battle whenever you exploit enemy weakness, do follow-up attacks, back attacks, and more!
Kudos can also be used to buy Medals that are used to Promote Units to their upgraded classes.
