Medina joins through Character Stories. Characters who will join your party from Character Stories are affected by Serenoa's Conviction. You need to reach a certain number of points for Morality, Utility, and Liberty to get them. However, these values are hidden on your first playthrough. The only way for you to check how many points you have gathered for each is to finish your first playthrough and unlock New Game Plus.

You'll know a character story is available by checking its icon on the lower right section of the map. Press the + button to watch the character story and possibly recruit a new member of your team!

Description 1	Increases the potency of healing items
Description 2	Can use items twice in the same turn

Medina's aptitude allows her to increase the potency of healing items and use items twice in the same turn, making her a great supporting unit in battles. Her abilities can also buff your allies and debuff enemies. Furthermore, she can give TP to an ally by using a recovery item on them.

Aside from being a great utility unit in battle, she has decent damage output. She can definitely hold herself out in battle.

Gold Knife

Celestial Salve, an upgrade that can only be unlocked after getting Medina's third weapon rank, is an ability that will heal all of your units in the field, although you need to 10 HP Recovery Pellets to use it.

This ability is expensive to use, but can be useful to bounce back in cases where the enemy has easily overpowered you party.
