Triangle Strategy - Penalty for Dying
There is no permadeath in Triangle Strategy, but there are several penalties if all of your units die in battle. Read on to learn more about the penalties of dying and what happens if someone dies.

Is There Permadeath?

No Permadeath in the Game

There is no permadeath feature in Triangle Strategy. Even if you play on the hardest difficulty in the game, units that die during battle will still be alive and the story will not change. They will also still be usable in any future skirmishes.

What Happens When Someone Dies?\

Seranoa Dying in Battle

Unit is Removed in Battle if it is Defeated

If a unit dies during battle, you will no longer be able to use it during the encounter. Not only will you lose one party member during the battle which may leave you at a disadvantage, they will also miss out on any experience points that they could have gained upon doing an action.

Unit Will Still Be Alive After Battle

Dying in battles will not result in permadeath and any unit that dies will still be alive and usable in future encounters.

No Effect on Story

If a unit which is integral in the story dies in battle, they will still be alive and the story will not change.

Penalty for Dying or Retreating

Spoils Acquired Will Be Lost

If all of your units die or you quit the battle, you will lose and the battle will end. Any spoils that you have picked up will be lost.

Used items will be refreshed

Items that you use during a battle where you lost will be replenished. After the battle, you will have the same amount of items before you started the encounter.

Experience, Kudos, and Conviction Retained

However, if you lose or quit a battle, any experience points, Kudos, or Convictions that you have received during the fight will be retained.

This is useful for tough battles as even if you lose, your units will be stronger after every defeat as long as they can earn experience points.
