Battle Strategies

Herd Enemies to the Fountain

Most of the battles will take place in the fountain area. Deploy ranged units capable of lightning abilities like Narve and Ezana.

Rite of Lightning

Deal lightning-type magic damage to an enemy, and have a chance to paralyze them for 2 turn(s). Effect spreads on water. Power: 100 Range: 0-4 (Height -10 - +10)

By hitting enemies on the fountain, damage will spread to its entirety. Though ripple effects from lightning abilities damge Avlora very little, it will shave a decent amount HP on other enemy units.

However, do take note that your own units will be damaged if they are also in the fountain, so avoid positioning them in the water if possible.

Target Healers First

More than Avlora herself, players should defeat enemy healers first. These units will heal huge chunks of Avlora's health when left unattended. This can make the battle unecessarily long.

Life Magic

Grant regen to an ally for 3 turn(s), automatically restoring a little HP at the start of their turn. Power: - Range: 0-5 (Height -10 - +10)

Healers can also use Life Magic that can heal their allies passively for 3 turns.

Bring as Many HP Recovery Pellets as Possible

Encountering Avlora is always a big ordeal. She deals a lot of damage while having immunity to all status ailments. Avlora's physical attackscan even halve the health of your units.

Double Items

Use 2 items in quick succession. Power: - Range: 0-0 (Height -0 - +0)

Be sure to bring as much HP Recovery Pellets as possible. Players can take advantage of Medina's Double Items or Anna's Act Twice in order to heal multiple units.

Sanctuary

Grant HP to allies within range. Power: 28 Range: 0-4 (Height -10 - +10)

Of course, Geela herself is one the best healers in the party and can use Sanctuary to heal multiple ally units.

Beating Avlora

Since the victory conditions of this battle is for the defeat of Avlora, players should make a beeline for her immediately.

As the battle progresses, more reinforcements in will arrive in the form of hawkriders. They are weak to bow units like Archibald and Hughette. Leave them to dispatch the reinforcements while continuing to focus on Avlora. As players surround and overwhelm her she will eventually fall.

Chapter 14b General Tips

Take Advantage of Quietuses

Quietuses are an extremely helpful set of commands that can help your units in a multitude of ways. To name a few, certain Quitetuses can influence turn count, damage dealt, unit positioning, and more.

Provided that you have the Quietus Points for them, using these commands will make Serenoa and his allies a force to be reckoned with.
