Both Bundt and Raspberry are capable of inflicting Sleep and Fear, so make sure to equip the protective accessories Fearless Pin and Wake Up Pin for a much easier fight.
Of the two, having the Wake Up Pin will find a lot more use in this fight since Fear will not stop you from blowing out the candles.
List of Status Conditions and How to Heal
The two Torte are invincible, so work on attacking Bundt instead to progress the battle. During this time, the cake will still be dormant and will not attack.
Do enough damage to Bundt to cause it to move, frightening the two Torte and causing them to run away from the battlefield.
Bundt is invincible to damage so as long as he has one candle lit.
Once Bundt has been awakened, the five candles on the cake head will be lit up. Extinguish all of the lit candles and hit him with a normal attack to begin the second phase with Raspberry. While Bundt has all candles lit, he will be able to act or attack three (3) times in one turn.
Use normal attacks to extinguish a candle. Bundt will relight one candle every turn. Keeping the candles lit to less than five (5) will reduce his actions to two (2) per turn. Have your party members all do normal attacks first. Once all of the candles have been blown, proceed on defeating Bundt.
Thought Peek always shows Bundt's HP as 0, so he will not take any damage as much as the game tells you.
Using special attacks like Super Jump on Bundt will do nothing, even if Mallow's Thought Peek shows Jump as his weakness. No use trying any other special attacks on him at present like Terrorize and Shocker as he is resistant to those also.
Conserve your FP for any healing needed with HP Rain or other support skills, and feel free to use it aggressively once you get to the second phase.
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Super Jump (Mario) |
・Time your button presses every time Mario lands on the enemy to increase damage and jump again. ・You can time Super Jump on an enemy up to 100 times. |
After defeating Bundt, the battle will proceed as normal from here on out since the candles will be gone.
Raspberry is weak to Jump, so feel free to use Jump attacks for more damage. Chain your Super Jump Action Command to efficiently deal lots of damage without having to use too much FP.
Exploit Raspberry's weakness against Jump attacks by using Mario's Super Jump!
Best Special Moves for Each Character
Both forms have strong physical and party-wide attacks. Bundt can attack multiple times in a single turn, so be on the look out and have your healing items ready!
Bundt's Diamond Saw has a high attack power, so prioritize blocking perfectly and keeping your HP up while fighting him. Sand Storm causes Fear, so it would be a good idea to have status effect cures or accessories such as the Fearless Pin for protection.
Raspberry pretty much has a similar moveset with Bundt, the difference being that this time it can cast Sleep with Lulla-Bye. Sleep can be countered by items that cure sleep and accessories such as the Wake Up Pin.
