The Lazy Shell is one of the strongest weapons for Mario in the game. Despite having a wide damage range, it still deals significantly higher damage than other equipment. Having Super Suit on him will make him immune to nearly all forms of harm other than pure damage.

It is recommended to have Mario equip the Attack Scarf since it will complete the overall protection of the set by granting immunity to instant death.

Alternative Armor

Equipment Perks
Hero Shirt ・Strongest Mario-exclusive armor with a defense power of 48.
・Can be purchased at a shop.

The recommended Super Suit is difficult to obtain due to it requiring 100 consecutive Super Jumps. You can opt to use the Hero Shirt instead which can be bought much later into the game.

・Can be purchased at a shop.
Safety Ring
(Accessories)
・Immunity to Elemental Attacks.
・Immunity to Status Ailments.
・Immunity to instant death.

This setup for Peach is versatile, allowing her to perform well both in recovery and in dealing damage.

The Safety Ring is recommended for Peach since it allows her to survive most forms of harm, giving her significantly more window in casting support moves for other party members.

Support Equipment

Equipment Perks
Frying Pan
(Weapon)
・Peach's strongest weapon with an attack power of 90.
Lazy Shell
(Armor)
・Strongest armor in the game with both defense and magic power at 127.

・Significantly reduces speed, attack, and magic attack by 50 points.
Quartz Charm
(Accessories)

For a bigger boost to Peach's survivability, consier having her equip the Lazy Shell. While there will be significant drawbacks in dealing damage, this is made up for with the Quartz Charm, which gives multiplicative bonuses to both attack and defense-related stats.

The reduction of speed caused by the Lazy Shell can actually benefit Peach since it allows her to cast healing at or near the end of a turn. This gives you time to decide on using her healing abilites after all damage has been accounted for.

Best Equipment for Geno

Super Mario RPG Remake - Geno

Geno's Best Equipment

Geno is an excellent overall party member, and has the highest speed among all of them. He also has a reliable kit of powerful buffs and naturally high attack power.

Consider having Peach in your active formation along with protective equipment to pair with Geno.

Support Equipment

Equipment Perks
Stella 023
(Post-Game Weapon)
・Geno's strongest weapon with an attack power of 62.
・Highest defense for his armor at 48.

This setup is to consider if Peach is using her General Purpose Equipment. With this loadout, Geno can safely support his allies alongside peach while having immunity to most forms of harm.

The Jinx Belt will compensate some of the drawbacks of the Lazy Shell armor, ensuring that Geno can still perform well in dealing damage to enemies.

Best Equipment for Bowser

Super Mario RPG Remake - Bowser

Bowser's Best Equipment

Equipment Perks
Wonder Chomp

・Easy to obtain early.
Quartz Charm

Bowser's equipment may appear to be underwhelming, but this is made up for by the overall boost provided by combining both Work Pants and the Quartz Charm. Given Bowser's naturally high stats already, this is the go-to set.

If you do not have the Quartz Charm yet, consider having Geno as Bowser's support to use Geno Boost to buff his Attack and Defense instead! Note that Geno Boost and Quartz Charm do not stack, so there's no point using both of these together.
