Maple Syrup | 5 Pieces | 4 Pieces |
Mid Mushroom | 3 Pieces | 1 Piece |

After defeating the Czar Dragon, you will have to fight its 2nd form Zombone. Since there is no resting point between forms, you will want to make sure that you have plenty of items available to support your party in battle.
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Snowy (Mallow) |
・Rotate the left stick to increase the damage dealt by this move. |
The Czar Dragon will regularly summon up to 4 Helio to aid him in battle. These Helio attack by throwing themselves at a party member and exploding, dealing massive damage.
Helio in large numbers are dangerous. You can make quick work of them by exploiting their weakness to Ice with Mallow's Snowy special move.
Best Special Moves for Each Character
The Czar Dragon is capable of counterattacking after receiving an attack, so if you have low HP, choose to defend until Peach's turn and then heal. Reduce damage to you take from attacks by practicing perfect blocks.
However, make sure the summoned Helio on the field do not go unchecked. Defeat them quickly with Mallow's Snowy then recover!

Zombone (2nd Phase) |
|
When enough damage has been done to Czar Dragon, he will fall into the lava and switch to his 2nd form Zombone.
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Shocker (Mallow) |
・Press the button just before the bolt ends to increase the damage dealt by this move. |
This time, instead of Ice, Zombone will be weak to Lightning. This is a good time to take advantage of Mallow's Shocker to deal large damage.
While it is also stated that Zombone is weak to Jump, it is recommend to just have Mario proceed with normal attacks since he has low physical defense anyway, and is more efficient than having to use FP.
Zombone, like in its previous form, is still capable of counterattacking after receiving an attack. Make sure you are not low on HP by having Peach heal you regularly.
Having a member fall in battle due to a counterattack can be costly, so make sure everyone has enough HP every time when attacking him.
Item | Where to Get |
---|---|
Pure Water | ・Sometimes drop from undead enemies. |
Incidentally, if you have Pure Water on you, using it on Zombone will deal a fixed number of 130 damage since Zombone is classified as undead. This is optional since Pure Water cannot be bought and usually is only obtained as drops from defeated undead enemies.
If using Pure Water, use it during a time where Peach does not need to heal anyone, or if if you need to conserve Mallow's FP.
