How to Beat Hammer Bros and Attack Patterns

Raise Mario's Level to 2

Super Mario RPG Remake - Mario Reaches Level 2

Fighting the Hammer Bros. at level 1 will be difficult, so make sure to at least raise Mario to Level 2 to make it easier to defeat these bosses. Doing so will make it so you only have to use two Jumps or less to defeat each Hammer Bro!

Experience for level-ups can be gained by simply defeating the enemies in the area prior to the boss fight!

Level Up Bonus Explained

Recover HP and FP Before Battle

Rest at Mario's House to replenish your HP and FP by interacting with the Mushroom Lamp.

Mario will be fighting the two (2) Hammer Bros. on his own, so make sure to stock up on Mushrooms that drop from enemies, and take a rest back at Mario's pad by interacting with the Mushroom Lamp to replenish your HP and FP!

Focus on One Hammer Bro at a Time

Super Mario RPG Remake - Focus on One Hammer Bro

It is not advisable to distribute damage when fighting the Hammer Bros. since you will want to eliminate one as quickly as possible. Focus on attacking one until it is defeated to avoid the damage from several turns of enemy team ups.

When you are in a one-on-one situation, you can switch between Jump and normal attacks to manage your FP. Use Mushrooms when available, since Mario is still has low HP given his level!

Learn and Use Timed Hits

Super Mario RPG Remake - Learn and Use Timed Hits

Using the Timed Hit action command right when a party member uses an attack or a special move can have bonuses such as increased attacks damage.

Timed Hits, paired with Mario's Jump special move, is useful in bringing down the Hammer Bros. This is the perfect opportunity to practice it on a challenging enemy.
