As the character with the most versatile moveset, Mario will have the highest overall stats out of all characters if you distribute the bonus based on the table above. Both Mario's normal attacks and Special Moves are powerful, so it is recommended to use a versatile build to enhance his power.

Mallow is the "mage" character of the team who fights mainly using elemental Special Moves. It is recommended to allocate bonuses on the Special stat as shown in the table above to deal more damage when using Special Moves and increase the amount recovered from his healing moves.

Whenever you receive a 7 stat bonus after leveling up, use it to increase Mallow's HP as that is his second highest stat.

Geno is the third character who will join your party, and if you were doing a Balanced build on Mario and Special build on Mallow, you might want to make Geno your main Physical attacker. Building Geno as a pure attacker allows you to save your Flower Points for other characters who mostly use Specials.

Don't worry about Geno having low Special stats as you'll only be using Geno Boost to boost an ally's stats and Geno Whirl to execute enemies.

Although Bowser has high base stats, the Attack stat of his strongest weapon is relatively low. Increase his Attack stat using all the level up bonuses help boost it and add him as a smasher character.

The amount of HP Peach's healing moves can recover should be enough to keep the party healthy even if her Magic Attack stat isn't maxed out. Distribute bonuses on Physical and HP as well to increase the damage she deals when not healing and increase her survivability, respectively.

Peach also has the highest HP stat out of all characters, especially between Levels 10 and 19, so it is recommended to use the bonus on HP to increase this stat further in the early game.
