Grate Guy's Echofinder is a single-target attack that deals damage and causes Silence, preventing the targeted party member from using special moves.
Consider having protective equipment like the Wake Up Pin which prevents the wearer from being affected by Silence. Buying three (3) copies of this is recommended for equipping everyone in your party.
List of Status Conditions and How to Heal
It is best to prioritize defeating Knife Guy first. Knife Guy is the magic of user of the group.
Of the two, he has the lowest HP, so focus on taking him out first so that you can prevent them from doing special attacks together!
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Fireball (Mario) |
・Press the button repeatedly to get the timed bonus of increased damage |
Knife Guy is weak to Fire, so using an attack like Mario's Fireballs will deal a lot of damage to him.
Grate Guy is weak to Lightning, making Mallow an ideal candidate in bringing him down since he has Lightning attacks. But you will want to prioritize healing first from Mallow in this fight while both Mario and Bowser take on Grate Guy.
Best Special Moves for Each Character
Special Move | Effect |
---|---|
Terrorize (Bowser) |
・Inflicts Fear status effect. ・Rotate the left stick to increase the damage dealt by the Special Move. |
Using Bowser's Terrorize to inflict Fear on the enemies will reduce the damage they deal in half. This will also increase the damage they take, ensuring that you get more value out of your attacks.
After several turns, Knife Guy will move and stand on top of Grate Guy's head in a tower position. In this position, both minibosses will start using multi-target special moves each turn.
For Grate Guy, look out for Meteor Blast. For Knife Guy, Watch out for his Blizzard attack.
They can be beaten back into their regular formation by dealing enough damage or defeating one of them.
