In Super Mario RPG Remake, a Bonus Flower is an item with one out of five effects, obtained and used by a character when it defeats an enemy in battle with a normal attack. Read on to learn how to get Bonus Flowers and what their effects are.
List of Contents
Flower Type | Effect |
---|---|
HP Max | Completely restores the character's HP. |
Attack Up | Increases damage dealt by attacking character by 1.5x for the rest of the battle. |
Defense Up | Decreases damage taken by character by half for the rest of the battle. |
Once Again | Character can attack again. |
Lucky | After the battle, a minigame can be played that can potentially double the coins or experience points gained. |
The Bonus Flower will grant 1 out of 5 different effects, depending on what type you received from the enemy.
The type of flower that you get depends on the enemy you defeated. For example, Goombas will only drop HP Max flowers.
For the stat-boosting flowers (Attack Up and Defense Up), if a character gets more than one of them in one battle, they won't stack. Generally, they also won't stack with items from different sources with the same buffs.
Find the egg where Yoshi is in to get double the rewards, avoid the black Fuzzy to avoid losing your wager!
When you get a Lucky Flower, it has a unique effect of activating a guessing minigame called Wheeere's Yoshi?! after the battle.
You can wager coins or experience points, and if you win you'll get double of what you wagered. If you lose, depending on your choice, you can either keep what you wagered, but you can also potentially lose them all.
Yoshi Egg (Wheeere's Yoshi?!) Guide
When you defeat an enemy in battle with a normal attack, there's a chance to get a Bonus Flower. If you used a special move or item, you won't get the flower.
The chance to drop a Bonus Flower depends on the enemy defeated. Some enemies will have higher probabilities of dropping a Bonus Flower, while there are also some that do not drop flowers at all.
There are a couple ways of getting a guaranteed Lucky Flower during battle. The first one is using a Lucky Jewel, an item that can be used from your inventory. It can get used a few times before disappearing from your inventory.
The second way to get a flower is equipping the Lucky Hammer and defeating an enemy with a Timed Hit using it.
